Such a holiday classic! Hearing this song really gets me in the Christmas Spirit. Time to get the tree decorated, the egg nog warmed, and cards written and in the mail!
If I'm correct he was No.1 with this, and its got that old log fire sound to it like Bings Xmas songs and Andy Williams,Sinatra sang carols superbly too,not many can croon now, shame!
@bus114 The recording of "Let It Snow" used at the end of "Die Hard" is from Vaughn's very first stereo album, "There I Sing/Swing It Again" which was released by RCA Victor in 1958. Credit is at times given to a different stereo recording of this song that Vaughn made much later for Dot Records. but I don't think this is correct. The recording in this video is a mono recording filmed before a live concert.
@VAUGHNMONROEVIDEO Ive heard a sample from this on a website just now and its not the same as the Die Hard recording. Where the hell can I find the film version? Ive looked everywhere! :(
@GavSalkeld The version of "Let It Snow" by Vaughn Monroe used in the film "Die Hard" is from Vaughn Monroe's first stereo recording, titled "There I Sing/Swing It Again." The album was originally released by RCA Victor in 1958, and ended up being his last for the label after MANY years. It has been released with bonus tracks on CD...most likely you'll find it at amazon.com.
Vaughn Monroe was a genius singer. He made this song on his own and yes it was great for Die Hard... Have you heard his Ghost Riders in the Sky? The baritone voice he had was a killer.
The music of Vaughn Monrie is an istant success, if someone from the 1900's love romantic music with a good voice, it's Vaughn Monroe's music who has been played for that reason.

@sctaber56 In fact, it's not a Christmas classic. Although Let It Snow is mistakenly associated with Christmas, it's a love song :)

I apologize if this has been asked and answered already -- but was this version heard at the end of "Die Hard"? Sounds like it.

The Dean Martin version is way better :)
MissTube100 2 years ago
Dean's version is very nice. BUT Vaughn's is superior, in my opinion...Vaughn had the classic hit record, which has been used in several films.

Pop (my dad) always told me that Vaughn was my Uncle Ed's favorite singer. Well, he is one of mine, too! Wonderful. Thanks for posting this.
