  • I lost count after the first shot?!?

  • "yes i know that 125 yards is not that far but for .22WMR its actually towards the end of its effective range, much more and their is too much bullet drop."

uhhh.... have you tried longer? i routinely shoot steel @ 400 yards with .22 lr. alot of drop to be sure, but it does reach.

  • I love how a 22 mag passes right through the thing. where as a hornday 17g v-max would blow the bottle apart. The only way I can get a round to pass through a bottle or a squirrel without making it explode is to use the 20gr FMJ's. But just throwing it out there both the 22mag and the 17HMR are great they both have positives and negatives and different applications

  • @crackshot323 man i hate .17hmr tards.

  • could have skipped the first minute....

  • WOW 27 sec's of intro. Unbelivable. I gave up when the video started.

  • Good shooting. Have you tried hollow points? Much action from water filled containers with hollow points.

  • is there a difference between mountain lightning and mountain dew if shot using only your big toes

  • 22 wmr at 200 yards shooting .40 grains with a bc(ballistics coefficient ) of .157 and at a speed of 1910fps has 14 inches of drops with equivalates to 7 moa at 200 yards to be hiting direct on and still has enouhg power to take out a coyote with a head shot although not recommended it is possible and then at 300 it has about 42 inches of drop with equivalates to 21 moa for those of you that want to do decent range shooting with a 22 wmr.

  • This is what deader than dead looks like XD Hey you should post video of the 30gr V-MAX .22WMR shooting the same style bottle if you ever get the chance. I bet it's more explosive =D

  • this video is unconclusive, my lake field model 93 .22mag would tear that bottle in half at 125 yards all day.

  • Their storming your mothers bed room bookstop1337

  • lame!!!!!!!

  • KNOCK-OFF BRAND MOUNTAIN DEW!!! sorry, just had to point it out.

  • save yourself a minute of your life, go to 0:58

  • There's a HUGE difference between .22wmr and 7mm mauser. Of course there's a difference in reaction

  • @freeman2424 i have a rifle in 7mm mauser. when i shoot 2 liter bottles, they always explode and fly 6 feet in the air

  • i was expecting more of an explosion. i shot a 2 liter bottle like that filled with water with my 7mm mauser and it exploded and flew 7 feet in the air

  • M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!!!

  • you bastard. have you ever stopped and thought about that poor waterbottles rights! you are a sick individual video recording that bottle being shot multiple times and watching it bleed all over the ground.I am a Life Long member of PASWB People Against the Shooting of Water Bottles!!!! Im calling the government to come to your house and arrest you for such violence and your murderistic ways of killing such a beautiful water bottle!!! Ha Ha Just kidding, but seriously who does that sound like?

  • what is the song at the beggining please?

  • @thebigboyg call of duty4 sniper misssion theme

  • @mikesikora thx

  • nice vid

  • Nice production with video and sound. The "head shot" made me bust out loud.

Good job. BTW: I love my WMR.

  • awesome vid

  • hahaha "HEADSHOT" @ 1:18, nice touch

    "ROCKET SCIENTIST!"

  • @g7nnon7

I own rifles in both calibers and from my experience it probably wouldn't have. A google search will yield an article comparing the two rounds which suggests the standard 40 grain .22 WMR load carries an energy advantage over the .17 to at least 125 yards (given that @ 100 yards it has 162 ft/lb. vs. 136 ft/lb. for the original 17 grain Hornady .17 load).

  • I have a savage .22 wmr love it, Kills rabbits at 150yrds no problem

  • What? No, MO MO MO MONSTER KILL KILL KILL Kill kill kill

  • dude at 1:01 did you see the bottles reaction

  • actually its call of duty ......head shot....ultrakill.....it rocks nice shot.

  • We all know that the it was the CEO of mountain dew who was shooting this knock off brand

  • like the head shot just got a savage 22 mag xp full camo

  • I didn't have quite enough time to read the intro text o_O

    Nice shooting

  • I lol'd at this.

  • this shot for most ppl is a VERY easy shot o could do it all day getting those "headshots"

  • @Chipm0nk14 You have absolutely no videos on your youtube channel. Back this statement up. You can't. You can't do it at all, you're a bitch. LOLZ

  • No Gas Soda ? Better Add Mentos.

  • mountain lightning?

    thats some generic ass soda

  • its called SODA

  • 125 yards Equal To

    375 foot

    114 meter

    4499 inch

    11429 centimeter

  • What did that nice soft drink ever do to you.

  • hahaha headshot!

  • Nice shot. Today with my Henry Lever Action .22 I hit a golf ball at 125 yards.

  • HaHa you should see my uncle instead of a .22he uses a 50. cal..Nothing against that small thing

  • Is that bottle from walmart?

  • HAHA the quake sounds make it soo funny haha

  • Cool vid, but learn to edit man!

  • bobo soda.........

  • HEAD-SHOT!

  • You ruined that bottle!

  • nice vid but how do i know ur at 125 yards? u could just as well be 25 yards

  • good point.

  • lol Counter Strike Sounds, Next video do one with FPS Doug "BOOM HEADSHOT"

  • if its nice this weekend, ill scrap together another video of all my guns, FMJ and HP bullets both to make a comparison video. ill try and remove the wrappers from all the bottles too.

  • @freeman2424 hey mate..

Just bought a .22wmr rifle and just wondering if you need to break them in or are they good to go? And how often do you clean them? Cheers.

  • @ozzez8282 as far as i know, a traditional break in isn't required, though i know from experience it never hurts to hold judgement on a gun untill you have put a hundred or so rounds through it.

  • @freeman2424 Hey can you make a vid at the same range with the hornady ballistic tip?

  • @ozzez8282 break it in..........in to your butthole. then clean it before and after every shot.

  • @MrAmericanAce not to metion the fact im not using the highest grade video and sound equipment

  • that is sweet

  • lol cool

  • haha headshot, ultrakill

  • I just did the same thing as you and it blew the shit outta that big 2 liter bottle on the first shot. Are you using FMJ's?

  • Yea they are FMJ's... was all that i had with me that day. if it ever gets nice again i've gotten my hands on a old savage Model 840 Series E in .222 Remington. that thing oughta blow this thing over with hollow points. im also thinking about getting myself a old mosin nagant rifle, they're really cheap and shoot big bullets!

  • you will be happy with the mosin I have one and its a blast. I also got a mauser VZ.24 also fun to shoot

  • @freeman2424 HOORAH to mosin nagants! ive got one and it is the sweetest gun i have bought yet

  • eek, on the first round you can hear a ricochet.

  • @Totenhosen17 Yea, it did... it just barely zinged the tree that you can start to see off the right of the picture.

  • God, ya need ta make em' blow up and go 20 ft in the air!

  • BOOM HEADSHOT! And always remember DOUBLE TAP, if you kill it, kill it agian to make sure its dead. ;)

  • LMAO unreal tournament 22mag! Awesome shot. lol

  • Your right on the math, but it sure sounds and looks simultaneous to me. You dont need to understand "people" like me, and I could care less if you did (what ever that idiotic remark means..) grow up.

  • as fast as the bottle got hit, there is no way this was shot at 125 yds. I would take almost a second for the bullet to hit the bottle. You would hear the bang, then see the hit. The sound and hit here are almost simultaneous.

  • Wrong. Even a 22lr will get there before one second. 1800-2200FPS MZL velocity with the magnum rounds. 1200-1600FPS with the long rifle. I dont understand people like you and DONT care to.

  • @turboelkys at 125 yards, the only way youll see any difference at all is to watch in in ultra high speed footage... there is a difference there, but its so slight that you cant tell... a person can only start to notice the difference in either very slow pistol round or an extremly long range (500+ yards) rifle shot... and even then, its still only a second at most.

  • lol css voice overs i love it

  • it would be fucked up if U new sumbody that got shot in the face an died a slow painfull death. but i aint swetin it, ull go to hell.

  • general turgidson I will not go down in history as the biggest mass murderer in history since hilter!

  • amen to that

  • i eat all i shoot. tell me who is going to protect you when the army is destroyed and the terrorists come? the people like me who know how to shoot will be our last line of defense. so before you tell us to have a horrible gun accident, think twice

  • yea but if the army cant win i dont think u or any civilian can

  • oh shit are the terrorists are coming!?

  • @mark3smle

Where are the terrorists going to invade from? South? North?

  • @Bookstop1337 Chinese people will dig up out of US Soil and steal all of our Bacon during the wee hours of the morning. Prepare! Save all of your Nuka Cola bottle caps and don't forget to create a WalMart survival kit with a cheap Gerber knife and extra Vienna Sausage XD

  • @mark3smle Amen brother, well said! ;)

  • Out of my marlin, my .22 wmr doesnt have a drop even at 200 yards.

  • what is your zero range ? When i have zero 100 yard, my drop is 18 inch.

  • Mine is also zeroed in at 100, what loads do you use?

  • i got a wmr .22 a couple weeks ago and i have a tasco scope but i cant seem to get it sighted in...what kinda scope u got??

  • the way i sight my scopes is to lock the rifle to a bench with wood furniture clamps and make sure the bench is weighted down so recoil doesn't move it or the rifle. Now point your rifle at a large target like a 4X8 piece of plywood and fire a round. Then simply move your cross hairs to the center of the whole. Do this about 3 times to make sure it is "right on. It works for me. Place target at whatever distance you want to sight in at.

  • @wigfu I have a Simmons 3-9x50mm. it was cheap but it has never let me down. i no longer have the .22WMR rifle, i traded it for a savage .17HMR. nasty little bugger destroys small animals like rabbit and prairie dogs

  • Comment removed

  • @freeman2424 So you like the .17hmr better? Or would you still be content with your previous .22WMR? I know that some cartridges are considered better than others, but many of us have our favorite cartridges that we are comfortable with regardless of what the numbers show. btw I love that music, it sounded like C&C Tiberian Sun--COD4 rox.I also like how the soda bottle made itself a nest :P

  • BOOM HEADSHOT!!!

  • Unreal Tournament, good game. You ever got past ultrakill to God like?

  • Ludacris kill!

  • HAHAHA "HEADSHOT"

  • call of duty song?

  • 22 mag is my favorite cartridge - I have a volquartsen - I've shot prairie dogs at nearly 250yds.

  • i was using FMJ's for this, and i have tried hollow points on a bottle like this, but i haven't recorded it to see what it does in detail.

  • Macmillans gonna kill you for shooting his mountain lightning. Also, you know what Imran Zakhaev Said in response to everyone in Game Over for blowing his arm off? Soviet Russia kills you.

  • Are you a PC gamer by any chance? Anyway great shot. Whats the muzzle velocity?

  • i used to play alot of Counter Strike Source, but my computer is such junk that i just play COD4 MW on my 360 now... but between work and family and apprenticing with the local gunsmith i don't even have much time for that any more...

as for muzzle velocity, i'll have to get back to you on that, as im not entirely sure.

  • one shot with my 308 will blow that to hell

  • o ya? well one shot from my 30/06 will blow it to hell and then back !

  • very good video, thnx! I've been thinking about buying a .22 magnum rifle.

does it shoot straight for 125 yards?

  • The .22WMR is one of the straightest shooting rifles i've ever had the pleasure of owning. it is litterly a tack driver at 100 yards and at 125-150, if you can hold to the wind and account for the drop its just as accurate.

  • amazing, do you have a Henry lever action rifle?

  • no but i would love to have one. my grandpa used to have one in .30-30 and that was ridiculously fun to shoot, albeit a tad on the expensive side.

  • oh yeah me too! I've been thinking of buying one, a Henry with .22 WMR ammo, think that will be perfect for small game hunting :)

  • but the 22 mag is a better round. the end XD. you can kill Roos with a Magnum and only 1 round in the chest.

  • hehe love the video. The counter-strike'eque "head shot" was funny.

as for your info box, you can shoot well past 125 yards with a 22 mag. Just yesterday two friends and myself were chipping away at a cinder block at about 120 yards with our .22LRs - they have about 8" of drop at that range. a typical 4X scope will give plenty field of view to compensate for the drop. :)

  • Bullet would hit bottle before sound of round would be heard.I say few yards away .

    Just my opinion

  • agree

  • .22 wmr is an awsome round... the balistics on it are better then that of a .380 auto and some 9mm, i just wish more rifle compains chambered it like the ruger 10/22 they used to but good luck finding one now

  • LOL HEADSHOT AND ULTRAKILL

  • Counter Strike Anyone?

  • pretty sure thats Unreal Tournament

  • bet u were 2 yards away

  • If you idiots would listen, when the footage first starts rolling, you can actually hear my footsteps crunching the gravel as a run back to the bench rest.

  • I figured the .22 mag would have had a little more energy left at 125 then that. Unless you were using FMJs's

  • yea.... alls i could get for ammo at the time was FMJ's

  • man that headshot voice brings back memories, and nightmares, lol i always got scared when i was suddenly shot in the head. lol

  • the 22 mag is so underrated - the volquartsen was used to take out a prairie dog @ 375yrds (Shooting Times). They used the 22 mag in the sniper wars in Chechnya. Also, a National Guardsman I know, told me some of their snipers use the 22 mag - it RULEZ!!!!

  • OK, 125 yards? OK

  • for .22 WMR 125 yards is just about the maximum range you can shoot and still be somewhat accurate

  • no its not, my dad hit a roo in the back of the neck at 200m, standing up.

  • what make is that??

i have a savage 93 and i can shoot a piece of rebar at 120yds and apples a at 160 yards after that bullet drop is hard to calculate

  • its a Marlin 882SSV in .22 mag (duh). as far as range, i di 125 mostly ause thats all the farther i could egt on my property. i have done 2 confirmed 150 yards shots on groundhogs with it. 125 yards is about the maximum range where you can be regularly effective in a small area, such as me shooting the bottle cap. (i did do that on purpose, the first two shots were actually just me plinking trying to get comfortable on my shooting mat)
