i rememember hearing they dont make em like they used to from the movie tough guys staring burt lancaster and kirk douglas great film and great song the album is excellent too i dint believe it was kenny singing on it cos im used to his country style
They Don't Make Them Like They Used To is just a fantastic album. Jay Graydon did all the heavy lifting on this album. It reeks of his style, and the songs are timeless as far as I am concerned. "Time For Love" is MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG. I was six when this came out, and got it right away on 8 track LOL! I have since purchased the first JAPAN pressing CD from ebay and listen to it quite regularly. Thanks for a great album Jay and Kenny!
There are several great songs on "They Don't Make Them Like They Used To" But the music is dated by the heavy use of synthesizers.
Favorites - 20 Years Ago (sentimental), Life Is Good/Love Is Better(fun, upbeat, love the vocals), You're My Love (supposedily written by Prince), and the title song (was used in the movie Tough Guys).
I always thought Anything At All would be fun in concert
Time for Love has a haunting sound.
I love the opening lines on If I Could Hold On to Love "If I could....
Whether or not the music sounds dated or not is immaterial (rock around the clock, i want to hold your hand and all shook up don't sound as if they were recorded last week, yet they are still timeless classics). You can only judge an album on what was being made when it was released (and lets face it the music 20+ years ago was of a much higher caliber than what charts today anyway). "They don't make em..." is still a classic album and will always be such!
i almost dance to this song !!

The Guitarist is the lamest motherfucker i've ever heard, sounds like a 14year old....Where was Graydon?

Would be interesting to hear a remake of this song. Slow it down. Use vocals to add emphasis to the lyrics.

This Album I listened to while I was in Hilton Head Island for 3 1/2 months, a place where my heart lives and I love this song...

It is hard to believe this song is 21 years old, but it sounds as good now as it did back in the 80s!

God!!, 21 years have passed sice the last time I listened this song as the "new of Kenny" in the radio. Thanks very very much for the post.
