Oh yea babe! that's the way we party in Livingston, with a beer on the hand.................yeeeeh haaaaaaaaaaa! Love it. Can't wait to go back to Izabal, Guatemala, and have some Tapado and Rice and Beans, my two favorite dishes.
The blacks that were taken from Africa and were left here along the Caribbean Sea all share a very common heritage. I find it to be so amazing. Yet the different islands and countries treat each other as though one is far more superior than another. We are all 'Afri-Caribbean" people.
Well said! I am from Suriname in South America and like the other countries we share the same heritage, music..you name it! ..in the end of the day we were all on the same boat coming from Africa!
We are no longer found on St. Vincent because the British arrived demanding land after a war The Garifuna Nation and their French supporters surrendered. The British exiled all surviving Garinagu to Roatan off the coast of Honduras
Shalom93danseuse. The Garinagu originate in the island of St. Vincent. Garifuna is the mixture of a group a Africans who shipedwrecked on St. Vincent and of the island's Carib Indians.
What really is Garifuna? The people don't like like the 'typical' Bajan as I am a Bajan. I know they are not in Barbados. Where do they live and someone please tell me a bit about their culture!
The Garifuna are in Belize, Honduras and Guatemala and Nicaragua..Largest populations in Honduras in Belize..Many of the Garifuna people are found in New york and Los Angeles and most frien Belize and Honduras.. If you check out my profile you will find videos fron Belize Independence day in LA where Garifuna-Belizeans performed.
Yeah I will check out your videos :) To say the least I feel rather out of place after reading the other comments on here....my father's mum was half-Carib but I'm closer to my mum's side so i feel like an outsider here.... :"(
If it's in your blood there isn't any reason why you should feel like an outsider..I am not Garifuna at all and I still love it..I mean after all it's still apart of my culture being Belizean and from a country where the Garinagu culture is so strong..They are very welcoming and friendly people so you most def shouldn't feel that way.
