All of them were truly great players. This took way too long for Emmitt Thomas, who was shutting down star pass receivers when I was in Junior High School ! Andre Tippett was at least as good as Lawrence Taylor, but his supportive star defensive team mates sufferred injuries or retired (Julius Adams,Steve Nelson, etc.) so he did not have the support or the media exposure that L.T. did. Fred Dean was a defensive nightmare for Charger's and 49er's opponents !
hey fred dean is my dad's brother!!..omg i have never met him but i heard he is really cool!!..his name is corey dean...and fred dean and my step dads name is fred dean senior!!..wow!!
1. Congrats to Art Monk! He was on my top list of players whom are long overdue.
2. Redskins fans, you were shamed by the "booing" of HOF Members (Cowboys players), as this is a ceremony to put legions aside and appreciate the impact players have made on the game (whether you liked the player's team or not). Those fans obviously have "short-man" complex when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys.
3. Love him or hate him, Michael Irvin's HOF speech is probably the best in hisory.
Wow. You actually (and surprisingly) led with some class, but then quickly degenerated into the unwarranted arrogance typical of your ilk. You want to talk "short-man" complex? Before you posted, no one had even mentioned Irvin, let alone compared his speech to anyone's. But your insecurity compelled you to claim that his speech was the "best in history." If you liked that speech, you must love soap operas. Monk is all dignity, no melodrama. As men, there's no comparison between the two.
Redskins and Cowboys both suck... Go Chiefs. Fred Dean and Andre Tippett? You friggin kidding me. If Derrick Thomas was the greatest pass rusher in NFL History... and his 1261/2 Sacks prove it, oh yeah thats 11 years, Look up Reggie White or Bruce Smill numbers, then look how long they played. Good Game no argument.
I was simply describing the lack of class by the Redskins' fans for booing existing HOF'ers. Unless you think that was the right thing for them to do?
How do you figure that? Because I called out the Redskins fans for doing something (that you have yet to admit) was in poor taste? Perhaps you should re-read your post, which is comprised of multiple insults directed toward me (opposed with mine, which unless you were at the event booing, was not an attack on you at all), and tell me then who is lacking class. I personally like Art Monk, and feel he should have been in before Irvin. If I want to tout my feelings on Irvin's speech--accept it.
As a Redskins fan the only HOFamer I can boo hoo really is Michael Irvin. The fact that the man has a criminal record and is not humble it hurts the credibility of the HOF. The fact that he became a HOF before Monk is absurd.
WOW!! What a ceremony! Now, the entire world know's and can see for themselve's,what we Redskins fan's have ALWAY'S known....these guy's are fantastic and rare!

How would you like to start a team with these six as your foundation? All class, immense talent, and unwavering devotion to the game.

Well, you did a fine job of emulating said lack of class. Well done.

Monk's speech was excellent! I loved how he spoke about the gospel. His son did a great job speaking about his dad and their faith as well.
Monk, Sanders, and Clark were some awesome Redskins' receivers.
