Caro Belgio... Dall'Italia ti saluto!
There is only a glitch here: The Brueghels (both the elder and the young) date from the XVI centrury (earyl XVII even) and Monsieur Machaut is a musician of the XIV century.
i rate 5 star cuz it s my favorite painter of this period but the definition of the image is not of the best actually i could get a better picture from a book why is that?
i studi this period but our teacher didn t make any course stating that the bruegel and bosh had so much admiration among the student we could study it in the library and we did and yes it was more fun than to study paolo della francesca which i like too by the way if i was an artist i would be bruegel the ancien definitly : )
my favorite painter from this period and this period is my favorite period it s so surprising to see how imaginative how bright and colour full how contemporary are the flemmish painter of course we seing it with contemporary eyes and we lost the original meaning but it still talking to us like a modern painting if i was an artist that would be bruegel definitly

No doubt Pieter Brueghel was listening to Guillaume de Machaut on his iPod while painting.
Thank you for sharing : hearing real middle ages music other than sacred music is rare.
