If you get hit in the side while driving a Vectra B - You die! There's absolutely no safety in the side of the car. Frontal crash, yes it's OK for a car that age, but from the side, it's horrible. Please don't call this a safe car
id like to know what speed this is at? definitely waayyy over 30mph. I crashed my vectra at high speed and there was barely any damage, car even drove still. Also know of loads of people who've had high speed crashs in these. The cars were destroyed but had always protected the passengers

No its a Opel Vectra (B) 2nd Generation of the Vectra (1995-2002) the first one was known as the Vectra(A) (1988-1995) that replaced the Cavalier the cavalier was in production in 1975 untill 1995.
The vectra B isnt a face lift of the vectra A there nothing alike it just a new version and the Vectra B is (96-01) the face lift of the Vectra B is the (99-01) and then 02-05 is the Vectra C and the 06+ Is curently the Vectra D
of course its a face lift it has a SLIGHTLY diffrent front end and Rear end. it is the same car but looks a lot better and i would prefer to have a vectra B facelift than a Pre Facelift.
And the Face Lift is Known as "Vectra B Mk2" and the pre face lift is know as "Vectra B Mk1"
Actually that's a pretty good result for a car from 1997. I know the test is from 2001, but it's a retest of a 97 Vectra with some minor improvements. Even the BMW 3-series from 1997 got only a 2-star-strikethrough, so it's far better than that.

I've been driving an 2000 Vauxhall Vectra 1.6 and it's a fantastic family car! Not very powerful, but that's not important where I live.

I have actually crashed my vectra b at 90km/h, fixed it and sold it afterwards. From my personal experience it is much better than bmw 530!
