  • he is a little over the top. but i love that fresh young faces are gettin to read news bulletins... hopeful for me as that it my top focus in my career. ohh and radio 4 live is the best, i love it, lol. and channel 4 news is quite good

  • Marc has a good voice for reading the news on the radio, but, like Sarah Dobson, it doesn't translate well on TV. His body language can be very OTT and distracting - especially the way he spreads his hands across the desk. Still, good to see fresh talent at UTV. Is he still working at CityBeat?

They need to fix the date on the CCTV at Healy Park, it's still October!

  • He's not too bad.

If you really a true example of newsreading more suited to commercial radio than TV, Kate Giffard on Granada News is your best bet. She used to work at Radio City in Liverpool, and it shows!

  • Does she have a Scouse accent?

There's a Liverpudlian newsreader on Calendar called Rachel Phillips, but she is one of the best of a generally bad bunch.

  • No she doesn't but she reads the news in such a sensationalist tone. Not good at all.

That's the general tone of most Radio City newsreaders these days - shouty and OTT. It's no wonder I switched to Radio 2. Far more pleasant to hear Deadly or Fran Godfrey reading the news.
