  • Seems a little cold blooded

  • Not enough prime

  • Prime that bitch.

  • i would be scared that it would stop mid air this is a stupid video it tought us nothing

but how a fucked up engine starts

  • LELYSTAD YEAH!

  • That's one odd starter motor.

  • with small airplanes is how much fuel it can store the biggest factor on its range restriction. MY theory is if all the money and resources that are used on slow small range aicraft were put into faster long range light airplanes with jet engines it would save the resources and money that was used to manafacture them in the first place. we could of used the resources that made the smaller aircraft in the first place to make faster more powerful aircraft and save on resources

  • I come from NZ so its a bit chilly, so 3-4 primes, full rich mixture and also give the throttle 2-3 pumps as well and the have it about a third of the way in (1 1/4 Inch) for starting (in NZ)

  • Bit like my lawnmower

  • need more prime

  • He might have fuel contamination (water possibly, after all it is moist outside).

  • Is the Cessna 172 the legendary "cardinal" i have been hearing about? :D

  • @ipodplaya No; the Cardinal is the 177. Nearly identical, but without the wing struts.

  • @n1ztb yeah, i picked that up about a week after i posted the comment :P

  • this cessna need some manteinance..

  • 1:12 sounds so satisfying

  • he needs to prime it

  • @otagoman1

I agree. With my plane, two shots seems to do the trick. It is a great sound when the Lycoming finally turns over.

  • @cessnafan100

    It's a continental O-300...

  • Listen to the background, all airports have a race track near by, sounds like a circle track dirt strip or something. Oh and if its like my 172 on a rainy humid day if she dont fire on the first go, its a pain to start. i wonder why that is???

  • cool!

  • there is a trick a mantence guy taught me if you cant start it put mixture full and throtel about half way in and crank it and shell always start up.

  • put put

  • It happens some times. Usually giving it a shot of prime while cranking the engine will do the trick.

  • was the engine cold?

  • Probably, he needed some time to get the mixture right. Engine hasn't been started for a few days i guess.

  • @airplane82 Same to me I need some time with the mixture I'm the very new first time flying Cessna 172 Yesterday.

  • a rough start!
