a few of my running friends from Des Moines participated in the Chicago marathon in the heat of Oct 10, 2010. One of the guys, Nate had got sick near Cermack and Halstead. I want to thank the residents of Pilsen for giving the needed encouragement to those marathoners. Its because of the encouragement of Pilsen that Nate was able to get up and finish his marathon for 2010

I was born and raised in pilsen, lived on 21st street and western.

The pilsen area is not a safe place to live, you have more then 7 major Gangs there that have shoot outs all the time, day or night.

PCP and CRACK is a major Drug that is sold all over pisen, in the schools and on the streets, from 18th street to Cermac and from Western ave to Halsted.
