Is the bell of the horn inside the piano? Is this for sympathetic overtones? Or to not overpower the piano with the volume of the Alpenhorn? Just curious.

The alp horn is made of carbon and telescopes down to about a foot and a half.
Yes the bell is inside the piano and generates the spooky overtone natural reverberations.
With a pianist of Jurg's power balance was not a problem.
