Incredible amount of power the N64 had when it came out and it shows that fact (I think) as these graphics are still decent eveny by todays standards, as in playable and enjoyable. makes me wanna pick up an n64 again.

You do NOT know how to play that game. If you want to make a good video, make your game play good at least. And don't skip critical parts of the game. You skipped the scrolling title, which is rightfully essential to any Star Wars franchise.
Cool game. When it was new I waited for the PC version due to better graphics (sound a bit better too) and controler options (joystick etc)
I'd already played the PC demo by the time I first saw a playable display of the N64 game in a store (Fry's) so I could compare the two.
Similar case with Pod Racer and Battle for Naboo, though I ended up with haveing both versions of those. (the multiplayer graphics quality difference is particularly noticable for the PC vs N64 on pod racer)
I've played Rebbel Assault (I didn't get it until ~2004 -DOS) but I'm not that partial to the arcade style games like that. (the MAC version looks a bit nicer though)
I really like the contemporary X-Wing, classic space shooter, interactive MIDI iMuse tracks, early polygonal graphics with good 2D drawn cockpit (with damage modeling!) and decent voiceovers and animated cutscenes for a DOS game. (I like the Collector's CD version best. None of that win 95 "collector's series" version mind you)
Likewise I liked X-Wing alliance somewhat more than Rogue Squadron. I do like Rogue a lot though (unlike my mixed feelings with Assault).
I like the multiple POV's, particularly the virtual cockpit view (something I found lacking in detail in the contemporary X-Wing Alliance's 3D cockpit models compared to the earlier drawn ones)
The gameplay kind of blends flight sim and arcade styles, reminiscent of some of the Star Fox games in some ways.
I myself owned this on PC, it was the most fun game I have ever owned for PC, using the joystick made it that much more awesome too. Sooo many memories...
I just found my N64 system, and started too play this game for the hell of it, played it all the way till the end. Exelcelent game engine...had a lot of good features to it that other game systems didn't have. Character voices..ect. good game...although i'm not much of a star wars fan, i have to say it's still one of my favoites.
I remember when playing this, I was thinking wow to think I thought Rebel Assault was cool 4 years earlier on 3do LOL. Imagine if Nintendo gave the N64 a cd rom ::gives nintendo the finger::
Rebel Assault was fun. But it was just 2D "Sprite" ships over a pre-rendered Mpeg video background. Nothing was rendered in 3D at all. But it was amazing to see at the time. I think it was the first PC CD-ROM game I had ever seen and it was like "Holly crap it's just like a moive!!!11!one!"

Geez, what's Casio's problem?
I love this game. I'm planning to review it eventually. I didn't know about the high res mode. I'll have to give that a try.
