  • Funky Video work, I LOVE IT! :D Annie~

  • Thumbs-up - for both the vid ad the sentiment! 8‹D

  • Cool video though, I think 35 seconds is just an unusual format, cheers!

  • Beautifully done.

We all seem to disappointment others in one way or another, and in the end what matters most is pleasing ones self........ummm...not in that way *gulp*.....I mean, with careers and life decisions......oh, forget it.

  • yeah spot on!!

  • spot on!!!

  • You have really taken a giant leap forward. Not only are your films technically great but the content seems to be getting more accessible as well. Even I can understand them! LOL!!

  • @audionautix now that's getting somewhere - imagine a coherent storyline! who'd a thunk?LOL

  • I love it. Great advice for any young viewers.

  • Great construction! I wish I had time to learn more

  • @mrstuperstefan me too!

  • My grandfather wanted me to be a violinist. My father wanted me to be a lawyer. My aunt wanted me to be a teacher.

I asked my mother, "What do you think I should do? " She said, "Fuck off!"

    So I did.

  • @Perroquet51 Oh, the old reverse psychology approach! Parents think they are so clever.

  • And this is why we love you.

  • @NaturalTwentyFilms somehow I think the people I told to F off have a slightly different opinion! LOL

  • I have managed to conform while covertly being a non conformist. Truth is, I'm still evolving. ;) LOVED THIS!!!

    xxx

  • @IXGertXI but you found something you were good at! xx

  • Now sit down comfortably by my side and help yourself to one of these choclits. Nowwww, lets cast our minds back to when you were 15 and.....................

  • @stanwull do I REALLY have to go back to 15? It was an awkward time at best! xx

  • @LeSaMilano (pats hand) trust me, I'm a doctor. xx

  • I learned the very hard way that you need to build your own road... You illustrated that lesson which took years to learn in thirty-four concise and eloquent seconds.

  • @phekwig It took me 51 years to realise- or justify - my non-conformity! LOL

  • It's never too late to be the people we have always wanted to be.... !!!! If this is our one go around on the planet, then ffs' we've got to do what we want, don't we? Okay, so it took me a couple of decades to figure that one out and it probably means that I will be poor the rest of my life as a result... but I'm thinking I'm still better off!! You go, girl, be who you are, not who you were told you should be!! :) And if you want, I hope you will keep making movies!! You are good at it!

  • @myjourneytoraw I've had to reinvent myself a few times so I know all about starting from scratch and being poor! But the struggle is what it's all about ...so they say!

  • I love it!

  • @captainfury2007 thanks Steve. I bet you like the ending best. LOL

  • My dad always wanted me to become a veterinarian. Actually I think I would have made an awesome vet other than I'd probably break down in tears every time I lost a patient. My mom always tells me, "I wish you'd became a doctor so you could tell me what's wrong with me". ...(Sometimes it's best NOT to exploit a line like that, LOL)

  • @Blinkazoid my mom must think she really IS a doctor because she's always telling me what's wrong with me! LOL

  • Great work Lesley. Clever layouts and text. Killer punchline.

When I was in the us army it was FTA

  • @MayfieldRandyj Thanks Randy - it doesn't play properly for me so hard to tell what the f$%k it says! LOL FTA

  • I was told, " An artist !?! "

" You can't make any money as an artist ! " I didn't have a come-back at the time. But I did it anyway. Years later my father asked my daughter what she wanted to be and when she said an artist she was given the same reply, to which my six year old daughter replied," If I drew pictures for children's books I could ". I was so proud of her. This would actually be a good tv ad for some business. Don't like our prices %#@% OFF ! Mass Media 101 says make it memorable.

  • @profwaldo I think it's great that kids now are not put into stereotypical categories, that most girls and boys can strive to do something that was considered folly when you and I were growing up :)

  • We must be sis from a different miss. I got that same spiel but never dared....

  • @alphaba2 I went the route of struggle to figure it out my whole life! LOL

  • You too huh?...hehehe Loved it!

  • @PaintedRavensong haha I'm not alone!

  • Hee-hee :) (Sorry, I couldn't watch the dog movie! I know! Wuss! But I lost one, and I'm "vunnabull")

  • @thehouseon9thstreet no worries, the video was more for me than anything else. Very strange not having her here now, I still expect to hear her paddling across the floor. :(

  • @billyCtv we understand each other completely. LOL

  • And I'll bet that 35 second video took a lot more to put together too! However, I'm glad you did as I now have the image of you in a nurses uniform and as a secretary!

  • @BradThunder two days of editing = 35 seconds of film. Yes, I will go far indeed. Another 10 years and I'll be able to manage a 10 minute film short!

  • @LeSaMilano and Nurses uniforms are scratchy- no wonders lots of girls became secretaries!

  • I love it! That was exactly what you should have said. LOL -Jim

  • @CountryComesToTown HA! I've spoken my mind at other times and not had the desired effect! LOL

  • @billyCtv they wouldn't allow you to be a wife a mother either - so boxed in we were! LOL

  • @aohmann ha! you'd think I was over it by now LOL

  • those teachers are really good at career advice - after all look what they went in for!

  • @MrRandomWritings you know what they say...those who CAN.....

    xx

  • *SNORT* I was one of the lucky ones... but greatly disappointed by father by studying commerce instead of engineering. haha Fook!

  • @longhairred *passes tissue* I took the alternative road myself - and am no longer disappointed in their disappointment! hehe

  • ROFL! That was great! hahahaha! Thanks for the laugh! : )

  • @greggfla you're welcome, and I have plenty more where this came from LOL

  • *smiles*

  • @daligoddess2006 *winks back*

  • very well put together / edited! :)

and that theme seemed uncannily like the one from Jonathan Creek...

  • @21stCenturyCat bloody You Tube - I can't watch it without it stalling and skipping over the best bit! arg!

  • @21stCenturyCat

There ya go -- that's the show I couldn't think of the name of that used this music -- Thank you!

  • lol the f word is so versitile

  • @Ishkiia isn't it? Fuck yeah.

  • Ooooooh yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Jinxie228 that's not what *they* said at the time! LOL

  • Amazing how well that attitude gets some of us so far. Well done.

  • @jrsnyderjr I said it in a *nice* way LOL

  • I find that "fuck off" works in so many areas. Well said.

  • @timido66 it feels good, too.

  • Even as a tiny lass you were an independent thinker - that's awesome :)

  • @MotherReiver I still would have gotten my mouth washed out with soap if I had said that back then. But I'm glad I *thought * it! LOL xx

  • You listened to your inner self and followed your dreams and here you are.

How nice to have so many pictures of yourself and how you changed as you grew.

  • @myrnaukelele I think I just didn't fancy doing what everyone else felt they had to do for approval. Glad things have changed for women - now we just need to work on the pay part!

  • Featuring you on my page...I love it..!!!

  • @LisaJMoore thanks! short and sweet - if only I were this 'to-the-point' in REAL life! LOL

  • I always wanted to be a tight rope walker or a gypsy. Sometimes I think I got just what I wished for.

  • @robertpina99 it's a fine balancing act hoeing your own furrow.

  • And we are all glad you did. Clearly making films is your calling - or at least part of it.

  • @thizizliz well thanks - I have reinvented myself a few times over the years - and never gravitated to the secretary/nurse role - failed at the wife gig though! LOL

  • I'm sorry but do to the economy ...we really aren't looking for a nurse, secretary, or teacher...However..we are accepting applications for concubines or "artistic dancers" with lots of teeth. If interested please apply at the ball field behind the 7-11... 1 mile north of Wellers Farm on FM 260 at 11:30 PM. Must enjoy cow tipping. Bring liquor. Thank you for applying.

  • @VictorTheGr8 I tried that concubine gig and was bitterly disappointed - belly dancers are a bit passe' these days so that's me out of a job again. I'll bet you get a great deal on leftover hotdogs at the ball field. :D

  • With every video I love you more! You are so cool!!

  • @hallbe tell that to the 20 year old kids I go to university with! LOL

  • I'm sure you meant in the most enjoyable way ... heheh -- I love the music you chose, it's the theme of some PBS or BBC show that I've watched in the past but I can't remember what.

  • @liz1060 It's a useful word, in many contexts. That music's a violin piece from Danse Macabre, a very famous piece by by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, performed by our Kevin MacLeod.

  • LOL. Love it. I definitely had a similar experience. : )

  • @feelgoodnation I think my parents' generation was programmed a certain way - not their fault but I'm glad my generation didn't play along!

  • right on, limits are often times self inflicted.. good for you for not listening

  • @litterboxcatband and they say times were simpler then - well maybe but women having to have simpler minds went along with it. Bring on complexity!

  • Awe! I'm visualizing your speech when you win your first award ; )

I badly wanted to be an Astronaut. I was told women couldn't be Astronauts. Well, had I been an Astronaut I could have very well been blown up to bits, so for me it worked out quite well! hahahaha xx

  • @Pippilly I wanted to take wood shop and metals - no way - it was Home Ecor the highway, sister. Fuckwits!

  • Now THIS is what I call practical advice!

    *fist pump*

    ;-)

  • @OhCurt hahahahahahahaha I just saw Curt fist pump. hahahhaa

  • @OhCurt That's why it's in the edumacation category mon! :D

  • ha. nice.

  • @garypetersjr usually don't get that response when I drop an F bomb! LOL

  • Wow I should have said that a long time ago...hehe...cute video!

  • @DawndeeDALLAS I don't think I knew I was saying it all along - but now I can justify it! hehehe

  • You go girl, we can be what ever we want.

    Lauren

  • @justwant2bhappy yes ma'am you got that right!

  • WOW! You tell'em girl!!

    Hugs to ya!

  • @nancyleeould oopsie I did a baaad word LOL

  • haha how creative.

  • @HeyThatsMike (just needed an excuse to play with titling in Final Cut Pro! LOL)

  • Right on Lesley !! ;-) hugs, Chris

  • @bugsinrug girl power! x

  • So like, what are you trying to say ?

  • @profwaldo venting! I'm glad I didn't pay attention to those who tried to hem us into neat little packages - this was a special note for them! haha

  • I see I'm not the only one working through a few anger issues...hahaha! I'm thinking I will need to send this too a few people I know soon!

As always, well done, Les! The "Mistress of all Things" strikes again! Brava!! xoxoxoxo

  • @GreatGig1 LOL - I get riled up thinking about how they tried to hem us in when we were little girls while women were burning bras and swapping keys at parties! haha

  • @LeSaMilano I think we were born at a time when it was difficult to play by the rules...so, we didn't...LOL I'm in the middle of a new incarnation (mid-life crisis?)...so, I'm wondering where this one will take me. My guess is that it will bring the fun back due to my just not giving a damn anymore...hahaha! xoxoxo

  • @GreatGig1 well when they coined the phrase 'let it all hang out' they were looking towards the future! LOL

  • @LeSaMilano LOL...nor did they know it meant our bellies! hahaha!

  • @GreatGig1 hahaha what belly? LOL

  • @LeSaMilano Ooops...sorry...I was speaking for myself...and I think that is the belly underneath the boobs???...hahaha!

  • @GreatGig1 oh shit....there it is. LOL

  • @LeSaMilano Yippie!! You found it! Good to know I'm not alone...hahaha!

  • @GreatGig1 don't know how on earth I misplaced that tire! haha

  • @LeSaMilano It's easy to do!! Boobs can hide a LOT...LOL

BTW...featured this on my channel...not that it will get many hits for you as not many come by there...but...

  • @GreatGig1 aww thanks! (I'll take whatever views I can get - it's a bit desolate on You Tube these days!) xx
