  • ejdav, Thanks for the quick response. I really like that. :) I'm sorry your band never got off the ground. Is it ok if I link this video to another page and explain the Gene & the Pearls picture?

  • If this is the Four Lads singing, why does the picture on the video say it's Gene & the Pearls?

  • @bri4daz That's the picture I use on all my songs. When I was a teenager some of us wanted to start a band, and we were going to call it Gene and the Pearls. Gene being the lead and the Pearls being backup. The band never happened, so now, I'm Gene, and the Pearls are the songs I post. Hope that makes things a little more clear for you, and yes those are the Four Lads...Thank you for commenting.

  • OHHHH, thanks so much for posting.

  • Swell Song from the same 1958 RKO Film: Enchanted Island with Jane Powell and Dana Andrews

  • I don't recall if I saw that movie or not, but I always loved the song...thank you for commenting.

  • Here in western Washington we have an oldie AM radio station (KIXI) that plays this song occassionally. Thanks for sharing this in this format.

  • I have loved this song for years...thanks for commenting.

  • WOW Thanks for posting this. Goes back to 1958 ..my high school days....I kept singing this in my head till I could imitate the music and the words. Little did I know 2 years later in 1960 I would sail to Hawaii and after 5 days of seeing nothing but blue ocean, in the early dawn off in the distance I beheld the Enchanted Island of Oahu. I played this song in my head till our ship docked @ Pearl Harbor.

  • Sounds beautiful, and I'm sure it was. I have always loved this song. Thank you for commenting.
