And also purely from a dramatic standpoint, the few minutes of acting from Sebastian Shaw and his apperance at the end, had more meaning and do more to explain the character of Darth Vader than all three of the prequel movies combined. If he wanted a young guy in 1983 to play Anakin he could have, but he didn't. It was only AFTER he made a bunch more movies and made the whole thing into a franchise and wanted to promote them comercially he did that...
the logic of him being young again does not represent the last time he was good. He made the right decision by saving Luke from the emperor and then when Luke takes his mask off he say's "you have already saved me" ... b/c his soul was once again on the good side ... so the last time he was good was the very last moments before his death.

However, Obi-Wan could have come back young if he wanted to, and it would have made things more consistent. The franchise was never perfect, it's a lot closer to it now than it ever was. But then there's sarlacc change...etc...

@SecretAgentSatipo no he wasnt evil, darth vader was. Anakin and vader are 2 different people, when Anakin became a sith he went through a renaming ceremony, a rebirth into the dark side if you will. Therefore no longer being anakin, when he saves Luke and kills Sidious, he reclaims his name anakin and destroys vader.
He also has a blue head because his suit would not alow any sunlight through, and some possible radiation from the suit itself, turning his skin a sickly blue.

You all may not pay attention to this video, or may keep it at the bottom of the list but just listen to this. In episode 1 i swore that he would become a great jedi. In episode 2 when Anakin said, "Don't say that master, your the closest thing i have to a father" And in episode 3 when he said "I hate you" Obi-wan relized then that the close brother/son he had...was then gone...

@ADZ01982 You obviously don't know much about the Star Wars universe. Once he fell to the Dark side he had to let anger,fear, and hatred fuel him. He didn't mean to kill Padme, but her death is what really pushed him over the edge I think. He also didn't know his children were born until the original trilogy. He didnt slaughter the Sand people until his mother, who they kidnapped died in his arms. So yea you can feel sorry for Anakin he is still the one who brought balance to the force.

What separates Anakin/Vader from the Emperor and pretty much any dark jedi is his capacity for love. Palpatine was never capable of love, tho he may have held the tiniest sliver of affection for Vader. Anakin loved Padme and by extension loved Luke. That is the only thing that made his redempton possible.
