great tut. i have a question. how would i be able to make a logo in cinema, and then open it in AI and expand the appearance so i would be able to split it into pieces? any help from someone would be appreciated.
Does the C4D 11.5 accept a later version of Illustrator or do I need to do something different with my document settings in Illustrator because I am having a hard time doing anything with my ai file in C4D. It's importing but without seeing text layers, can't add colours etc. Do I need to flatten, Rasterize?
Can I Apply random effector on extrude nurbs For Example : I Want To Animate something like rotating ,scaling any pentooled thing so how can i do that ?
All good stuff and very helpful. What I'd really like to know is how you do this in reverse. So you have your model of a logo all setup and textured, how do you best get that out into illustrator .ai format?
side note: when you put down the extrude nurbs you can move the axis to the object before putting the object in it, that will fix that axis deal , but your solution is good too :)
Would be great if you could do a tutorial on your opening promo. I mean, a tutorial on the way you rendered and animated the 'GB' initials at the start of this video. Seems like a very useful technique too.
You can do that in photoshop, you make a selection of the thing you want to make in 3d, go to paths on the right side of the screen, and make a work path. Then go to export-> path to illustrator and then you are pretty much done, hope that helps
Dude, I have cinema r10 and when I try to do that then render it says "texture error" How do I import pictures on cinema? when I do it, it doesnt show the image after the renderr, its all black. What do I have to download to make the image show after the render?!?!?! (I think I have a really old cinema r10) IM NEW TO CINEMA
I was wondering if you can drop letters from a fair distance and have them hit the floor with sand flying on each direction something like the ford commercials ..you know how the ford sign drops and hits the concrete and dust and sand fly everywhere! well something like that in C4D ... thank and keep up the great tut's.
Nice tuturial ... Keep it up ... I would like to know how to import many AI files into cinema 4D and use them in da same project. Because if i import them 1 by 1, everytime i import one it opens up in a new project or windows ... Thanks
@chadkaplan19 In Illustrator, ungroup the Logo objects and delete the outer border, and then make sure you save as Illustrator 8, not later versions, before you import.
ok well i get my picture i put it in the illustrator program i do wat i need i save an its not allowing me open it up in C4D can u please help thank you
this don't work for me :/ i did a dawing, scanned it went around it with the pen toold and it has like connected some pen tool lines which i didn't put together and stuff like that :( and then when I extrude it, it doesn't work :/

hal'come when I try to add a keyframe for an objects scale/rotation/position, it adds keyframes to all axis, for example, I want to add a keyframe for an objects y position, how do I do that WITHOUT adding keyframes for it's x and z position?
how do you do the all views thing?

Nice tutorial, but is there anyway I can add a bevel to an illustration without adding caps that expand beyond the original vector?
i.e. I want to use an exsisting logo and give certain parts curves but don't want them to change the gaps between characters etc.
