I never realised this connection until recently but William gets exactly the same eyes as Wesker during this game. In Umbrella Chronicles Weskers eyes also glow like Williams at 6:32. So I guess it pretty much was the same virus after all.

I have the N64 port of this game and the FMVs were really blocky and dark, and the audio had that "fishbowl" effect. They really cleaned them up for the remake.

The in-game graphics look the same, though.
