1:37 in this video makes me so proud to be an American. Those great space and rocket launching scenes take me back to elementary school and how proud we all were of the space program.
Bo Bice sang his rendition of this song on American Idol a few seasons ago (the season Carrie Underwood won), Anyhow, he knocked it out of the ballpark. I thought I was listening to the orginal, of which I thought was Blood, Sweat, and Tears...oops!
Great song. And thank you Obama, for cancelling our space program...pfft! (although what that has to do with this song..who knows.) He sure killed our "Vehicle" for getting there though.
@SurlyUBetcha what a MORON...Obama didn't "cancel" our "Space Program" at ALL.....why don't you inform yourself before you make an ass out of yourself.....and by the way.....the GOP are the ones who cut funding...the reason BOTH Space Shuttles blew up under a GOP Presidencies...cuts in funding. If not for DEMOCRATS there would never of been a space program in the 1st place....thank Reagan for slashing the Budget for NASA causing them to launch when they knew it was unsafe trying to save money
@TheArizonaMark LMAO! Inform yourself. Trust me, you need it far more than I do. If not for Democrats spending untold amounts of taxpayer dollars on dumb-arse entitlements..we wouldn't need to cut useful programs. But alas, getting Democrats to stop spending is like trying to plug a gaping hole in the Hoover Dam with a wad of chewing gum!! Thank you Democrats - for 'entitling' us - and virtually killing the American dream, one entitlement at a time!!
@SurlyUBetcha you'll be the FIRST in line when YOU need something....so you wanna cry about Social security???..I thought this was about the Space Program that Obama "cancelled"...the Pres has ZERO ability to control funding MORON...it's the GOP who "cancelled" the Space Program...deal with the truth
Is it wrong that I have part of this as a Start sound? The part about being your vehicle, woman, taking you where you wanna go ... it's quite the way for a geeky gal to start her day ;-) Fantastic sound, thank you so much!
Memories. . .Summer of 1970. . .just graduated H.S.. . .working till the wee hours of the AM at a local pizza parlor. . .listened to this constantly!!
It looks like parts of this video were used in the early days of MTV. If you ever have a 70's party, this should be the first song played. This song was also used in the movie Lock Up, with Sylvester Stallone.
Thanks for adding this excellent 70's song to YouTube. BTW, I really appreciate the HQ-stereo, I can definitely hear the difference. It sounds awesome.
there is nothing like this song & VIDEO!!!NOTHING
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLY DONE....i bet they did even imagine the beauty they WHERE DOING AT THE TIME, and i bealive they still don't understand it...ITS JUST SOMETHING SO HORRIBLE ANS PATHETIC THAT CREATES THE STRENGTH FROM WITHIN TO BE SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!!
I still crank this on my Alpine going through town. I need to restore a 1973 Caddy and name it "Vehicle". Like the previous poster typed, a TON of funk that STILL holds up!
This is some heavy 70's funk right here jack, weighs at least a ton, and after nearly four decades, this still sounds fantastic, arguably some of the best horn riffs of the decade, and of all time, that bassline ain't nothin' to sneeze at either, quality music, classic!!

I love it ! The Space footage :) Back in the day when America was # 1 !!!!!!!! Yeah I hate to say was ! We as Americans have to rid our Country of the anti American scum/liberal party/marxis/stalinistic TRAITORS !!!!!!
Thanks for lifting me up! You really captured the e-motion of the day through the creative video mixed with the HUGE sound of Ides Of March. I'm still lookin for the follow up....SUPERMAN....My heart is throbbing with excitement!
Makes me feel like I'm right back in the 70's--the good '70's.

Speaking of Sylvester Stallone, this is probably the song that inspired the "Rocky" theme
