Ahe'hee, Thank you, Great Creator for giving me the oppurtunity for meeting my Kiowa Uncles, and being able to listen to some kind words and powerful, moving, old NAC Kiowa songs from my late Uncle Albert... may he have a Great journey... He is deeply missed......
i was fortunate to meet 2 great individuals several months back... My Kiowa Uncles, Uncle Albert Bianez, and Uncle Tim Redbird... i saw Uncle Albert's artwork on display in Balboa Park in San Diego, Ca. His artwork has given me the inspiration to start drawing again. Uncle Tim was also kind enough to support me with songs and prayers during my time of uncertainty back in Jan '10. He showed his support by stayin up with me to sing, pray and meditate in a Native American Church ceremony...
Aho' ... Greetings, to all my relations, My name is George, I am of the the Towering House People, I am Born for the Zuni Water's Edge People, my maternal grandfathers are of the Water's Edge People, and my paternal grandfathers are of the Black Sheep People, through the tribal clan system, I am a 100 % Navajo (Dine') Male...
I never knew Albert or of his art but just seeing his beautiful artwork and the short video of him I can tell he was a special and talented man. Through his art he will live on.
That was how Albert felt about it as well, something we talked about years ago,and the reason I decided to post a public memorial for him with his artwork
Thank you fromsoiltosoul. Albert lived very much in the present while trying to keep alive some of the traditions from the past to present. Maybe you have hit on the essence of his art.
sad to only get to know of albert now. but this is a great way to see and feel who he was and will always be, a loved friend, a real person, a wonderful artist.
his works are so fine! powerful, a joy to see and yes, it's easy to feel his spirit in this video. thank you for daniel's voice (you?), singing so beautiful. dying's hard, saying goodbye when a loved friend dies feels impossible. it surely helps to have a beautiful song to sing that can express what plain old words just cannot tell.
We have sung that song so many times for others when they have passed, I am honored to have it to sing for him. Yes, sometimes a song without words can express what words cannot. Thank you.
