    mustve been awesome

  • @xxRamenForeverxx whaatt thats crazyyyy, very random of those two to be on stage at once but thats how you know what good music is aha

  • saw this guy supporting ColdCut in Leeds many moons ago ,,,he was amazing

  • To be totally honest, I've never had much respect for DJs. That is, until now. This guy is absolutely amazing.

  • I've seen him at 2 events, he's fantastic.

  • Go see him live if you can, definitly worth it!

  • Most amazing thing I've ever seen... Besides maybe that one time where I've been on top of Mount Everest. That was pretty cool.

  • man, this guy is awesome!!!! first time I see him! oh my!

  • perhaps, one of the best dj ever

  • subtile...

  • and that's why he's king

  • why does the album version sound so different to this? :(

  • this is true talent.

  • what is the name of this song???

  • @hardinmichael1981 Drunk Trumpet

  • HELL YEAH IMMA SEE HIM FRIDAY

  • THIS is real DJing

  • rip real DJing

  • he waz osheaga fuckin dope

  • HES FROM VANCOUVER! WOO

  • true turntablism

  • mad skills, very original

  • I so need a hq audio file of this recording! Only discovered kid a couple of days ago, ive been missing out BIG TIME!

  • this is made but i can't see what he's doing because of the stupid camera angle changes

  • if this wasn't already in my favourites, I'd add it to my favourites

  • not into turntablists, but boy do I love me some Kid Koala!

  • The people hating on this don't even know what is happening in the music, in the video, in the world. Check Kid Koala out in Chicago at The Abbey May 14th

  • The polite clapping at the end was exactly like a 60s jazz crowd!

  • dj kid koala is crispy

  • Jesus

  • Dude is too good for words!

  • This guy is mad, and by "mad" I mean creative as one can get.

  • God damn.

  • a nice improvisation

  • que maquina

  • i wish this was fake coz i am jealous loozer :)

  • if i didn't see the video and just heard the audio i would have thought this was shit.

  • @thejobloshow I can't see how, this is great. :|

  • @joaon99 Because your dumb

  • @LAJayDee Dude, I said I can't see how he would have thought this was shit. You're dumb, read again. Unless you find this shit too, in any case you're dumb.

  • @thejobloshow you mean if you heard it and were ignorant of turntablism you'd think it was shit. why the negativity dawg?

  • @GringoStarr94 Because the performance of the turntablism is more prominent here rather than the mixing actually sounding good.

  • @thejobloshow I think as far as accessibility goes, then yeah, the many people who base their opinions on music around absolute harmony & rhythm probably would fail to appreciate this unless they were in the room at the time. Anyway, I'm here to appreciate skillz - and this guy got 'em

  • smilessssssss

  • got super wet!!!!

  • Ive wanted to turn tables ever since i was little but i dont know anyone with equipment or that even does know hoe, so im SOL xD

  • Imagine skateboarding to this shit. Fucking insane.

  • god the last part was amazing, i mean the whole thing was amazing, but damn

  • THis is SICK

  • youre amazing

  • I LUV U

  • FIRE! =)

    Агонь!

  • You dont have to be any race to make music...you just need a soul and ambition.

  • So nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What an awesome track to DJ to.

  • un maestro el loko... la rompe....

  • One unique mother fucker, he's awesome live. Heaps of fun n good times. Keep it up Kid!

  • Мастер

  • Saw this kid back when he was all but 15... freaking boy genius

  • This is so... weird... Very unconventional, but amazing!

  • LUL

  • palin is retarded and so are you

  • @MarcusErection He's canadian

  • @ahpap Sarah Palin has stated pretty clearly that once she is elected, she plans on making Canada part of the US

  • @MarcusErection I think we'd have a few more protests.

  • @MarcusErection from an economic perspective it might make sense, but it might be a little .... "socialist"...I have to laugh at how americans view that word, and we would not give up UHC... or beer, internet and sattelite TV. So, any "sweeping" changes she might envision would pretty much be stuffed up her ass while we dry fuck that bitch to utah. no offense.

  • we no him

  • What style is it again when you cross fade backwards? He's using the left turntable but opens & closes the fader towards the right?

  • It's usually called 'hamster style', but it looks like Kid Koala just has his crossfader set normally here - the crossfader is hard right when the left table is quiet.

  • Okay, gotcha, thanks!

  • isn't the vibrating sound the same as the Koala Bear makes?

  • What's amazing is you have a kid scratches real jazz. He knows pick ups & riffs, staggered tempo's. That's talent.

  • It would probably be easier to learn to play the trumpet than to do this!? Great stuff.

  • @rezaudio Not by a long shot.

  • @rezaudio Guaranteed.

  • @rezaudio lol

  • I love this guy!

  • Kid Koala is a wonderful musician. I love his phrasing

  • genius turnjazzblism!!

  • turntablism by one of the greatest!

  • @letrappe yea thats why i stay younger. ....

  • is this a john peel sesh or just a Maida vale recording? i fucking love kid koala for what he represents.

  • right the funny thing is i've been into the ninjatune lot for ages and i still dont know what genre the musics classed as. Can anyone help me out ?

  • I think its called trip hop. Not entirely sure though.

  • you see i thought that too, but then this guy told me its breakbeat, then someone else told me it was electronic. So i was like :S

  • Yah dude. Genre's are turning into sub genre's and sub sub genre's so fast. Its really hard to keep track. But its music after all i guess.

  • you got a good point, its not that i like to put them into genres its just so i know what to search for in the future

  • @bboysmyles it's turntablism

  • @oknobezkitu i just realised how much i should know that because i got decks, just went completely over my head hahaha ez

  • most of it is "nu jazz"

  • turntablism

  • @bboysmyles Most ninjatune is triphop, but Kid Koala... no fuckin idea

  • bombe :)

  • awesome

  • And you're a liar and a fatmouth, and really nobody cares what you think. Suck balls, my friend, and suck them well. Haha, loser.

  • I wanna learn how tuse turntables :)

  • spelled uncle wrong XD HAHA

    AMAZING!

  • ninja!

  • Amazing skills

  • now thats what i called jazz!!!!!!

  • wow.

  • Amazing

  • @RicardoCipriani ballsack

  • @trezza181 looks like u have me confuseD with yuh Father........i could of been if i didn't have a condom

  • @RicardoCipriani ay man! ay! it's alright coz im drunk. your allllllllllllllllllllright

  • theres still nothing like watching a DJ using good old fashion vinyl though, not DVS

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMaaaaazzzzzzzzinnnnnnnnng

  • how is he doing the thing with 2 hands at 2:23ish...wtf, i cant get that kind of vibration-sound...???

  • youtube. com/watch?v=1MQ507ATpT0

The title says crab scratch but it's actually called a hydroplane. You have to get just the right amount of pressure. It's a very light touch.

  • I figured it out. make sure your finger is dry and push up against the way the record is spinning. use the other hand to push the record forward. Use real light pressure and angle your hand so its relatively level with the record. I can get it to work about 60% of the time. Good luck.

  • I respect Kid Koala's skills but this just sounds horrible to me.. I don't get why this is good when it just sounds really bad. The horn scratching sounds like a squeeze toy or dying or something.

  • The name of the song is "Drunk Trumpet." With scratching I think that's about as close to sounding like an intoxicated horn as you're gonna get. The awkward sound is the whole point.

  • yeah, my drunk redneck unkle would agree with you

  • Incredible

  • I was always a little derisive about DJs who claimed to be musicians. Then I saw this guy.

  • @baskesis turntablism is making music. but only few ttablists are musicians. KK is one of them.

  • @baskesis i used to think . but then i stoped.

  • @baskesis I'm sorry mate but sound like a right tool. I'm glad I'm not you.

  • @BenNCM i like kid koala since way back in 1997 and his mix's at beata lounge with the tripy star treck brakes and the story behind the muisc in spieerd my to become a film dirctor and yea so eric's a cool guy.

  • I just want to say that I luv dj's that use vinyl. In my opinion, scratch live has lowered standards in dj'ing, just throwing that out there.

  • Yeah defiently understand your point. I've always just used vinyl without any time coded programme, I guess with serato and scratch it gives a whole new perspective on the art from. Although the most freshest raw stuff will always be just the good old two decks, a mixer and a pile of wax :D

  • It's still vinyl, but it just means that DJ's no longer have to carry round hundreds of records, only a laptop.

  • Good old 20's... :D

    So cool... =)

  • Sick wit it !

  • he's pretty badass

  • go canada

  • Fuckin' ay, I have one of his albums but never actually seen him do his thing. Brilliant stuff.

  • kid koala is dope

  • kid............ he the best

  • niceness. a track which can never be the same twice. rad-a-toody. <]8^P

  • poo poo platter bye MF DOOM has the same piano lick, its on mm food, dope album, its originally from a Fat Albert cartoon sample...Every time I bump this in my car in the city people start dancing and comin' up to the car, asking bout' the super funk

  • oh my god he is a genius !! how come I've never heard of him ?!

  • omfg that was insane....

  • it would be nice if this video was synchronised.

Koala kid is a turntablist legend.

  • very creative my dude..keep up the good work kid!

  • song is called "drunk trumpet".
