Don't know much about stats, but Spiral is more based on the weapons weight. With a Hunting Spear is quite easy to get good damage, and without strenght your other stats can be much more seized. :D

@Szente011 spiral pierce damage is heavily influenced by weapon weight > base atk > str bonus. damage difference of a 1 str build from a 100+ str build is only 900-1200 damage. when your doing at least 10k damage at the minimum even with 1 str, improving atk speed for greater DPS would be a more practical option.

the best non-renewal spiral build i saw and had was the 99agi/99dex build + magic string support from a 99dex/99int minstrel. this build combo is phenomenally dangerous in pvp/pve/mvp. add a wiz in your party and you guys are pretty much unstoppable.

@TheWingSabre nope just hit. the only true modifiers of spiral are weapon weight refine and cards. i didn't see the video poster use it but archer skeleton is a good card choice if you don't have alot of hunting spears for every race as spiral is ranged damage. you do get a bonus to damage based on str atk bonus but only for every 10 str. It's not alot tho and not worth maxing the stat if you plan for a pure spiral build.

the build of the lk is somewhat right,,,the damage of the clashing spiral depends upon the weight of the weapon and additional buffs....the build is beneficial for rune knight just need to maximize int, vit and dex...but still i dont agree with the ratemyserver calculations

str only increases a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of dmg( like 100 dmg/hit at 90 str)

so why doing so much str? it's better to decrease the cast time/increase hit (no need for concentration) and hp

this built doesnt apply to all servers... our server(essencero, highrate) uses strength aswell as dex. my pure spiral built(hunting spear offcourse) has over 110 str 87 dex 92 vit and 50 int i do around 15k damage average. and with the rune knight capabilties i can even max damage around 80k XD but thats a whole dif story:P anyways i tried out the pure dex built and my damage was only around 10k. afterwards i resetted it back to str built and did 15-16k.. so it depends on what server you are!

to get that "atk" you have to get something like 80% of weapon weight + sqrt of rounded down str + damage multipler cards.

so with 120 str you get 144 extra atk, which is less than half the "atk" you get from a hunting spear (which is around 370). BUT!

thing is: str damage doesn't get multiplied by 350%. it just adds that raw damage to each hit.

so 120 str adds a total of 720 dmg to your base 6500dmg spiral pierce.

Having used spiral builds myself in the past I realize why you went full dex as opposed to str. However str does make an appreciable damage increase. As for the other posters who are saying using bowling bash instead of spiral. If it's against the right mobs I agree. Hunting spear ignores brute type defense and does more damage by far on high end brute types than spiral can.I've used a clamourous hunting spear to farm atroce many times with BB as opposed to SP. Hell even pierce is easier on lrg.

Because spiral pierce skill is only based on your WEIGHT of the weapon and the UPGRADE level. Str does not apply at all and DEX matters in terms of delay and cast time. Oh, cards apply to spiral pierce.

you're awfully wrong... damage of acid demo scale down as vit goes up

people with 60-70 get 1 shot... stat immune is way better then low vit to survive a skill that's blockable by pneuma
