Gibson is wrong. Embryonic stem cells are definitely more totipotent than adult stem cells but are not proven to be better because of the high rejection rate. Using one's one stem cells is much better simply because there is no rejection and the availability of those cells (they've used fat, skin, blood, bone marrow cells) is much higher. Besides, if we were to experiment on 3-year olds, would we find cures for diseases? Probably. But why kill someone to cure someone else?
By that same logic killing in self defense is wrong. If given the choice to save oneself (assume that person have a desiese cured through stem cell research) at the expense of an embryo 99.99% of people would choose the cure. I am assuming that since you fall in the 0.01% category you are either very naive or very stupid.
I guess - if the three-year-old or the embryo were attacking you! No one is mandated to die to save some one else and if the embryo is a human being like us, there is no moral obligation that they die so that you can live. The question is not can embryos help cure you, the question you need to answer is what are human embryos?
the choice is made before engaging in sex, not after - a choice can still be made after birth, to keep the child or give up for adoption ... life is the most precious gift in the entire world (sadly, some probably don't agree). None of us were aborted and none of us chose when we were to be born. Yes, there are choices that can be made, but to end an innocent life is not one of them. Interesting how you admitted that women do kill their babies.
I never understand anything she says. Why can't she ever just answer a question clearly?
