I had one of those planes with a 2-stroke 50 on it. Excellent plane for aerobatics training or just having a blast.
But why do you come in so fast? Is it nose heavy? Slightly tail heavy, this plane comes down for landings at crawling speeds!

It´s Finland. FL-70 is my first glow engine after e-motors. Sound could be softer as you said. I have thought Saito FA-82(a) to my next glow plane.
