Fuck i thought all Americans were stupid!! We all just figured that you love a third world equivalent health care system. At least there is one person that understands something other than lining his own pockets.
Go, Grayson, tonight! It is too important for hardworking Americans who work their butt off and still cannot afford any health care coverage and lose everything they have worked due to the horrendous medical bills! This is a disgrace and a big shame for such a great country! I cannot believe that the Dems cannot put the few left over Republicans into their place, after 8 years of disaster-government and many more years of distroying any chance for common people to defend themselves!!!
Health care cost will drop like a rock in 1 day if I can buy my insurance in a different state. At this time anti-trust laws allow insurance companies to control the market. The only good thing Obama wanted to do was to remove anti-trust laws, but that was not part of a politcal or economic philosophy. It was a reaction driven by vengence.
@Amicoyanez Healthcare would be affordable if it cost less. Sounds dumb? Of course it is obvious. How do you get insurance to cost less? Simple, allow me to buy my insurance in Vermont. Right now anti-trust exception and other various protections prevent me from doing so. As long as insurance companies are protected by these exceptions, there is no free market for insurance.
@kelvinjavier Untrue. California has one of the largest markets of health insurance, yet premiums and deductibles are increasing as high as 39% until Blue Anthem dropped it. Massachussetts another great example mandates coverage, however premiums and deductible are increasing. Compare Frances' healthcare with any lassiez-faire model? This is what you get: less per capita spending, less costs per GDP, longer longitivity, cheaper drug cost, more innovation, and all this as a socialist model.
@sisque16 Californian's can't buy health insurance in Vermont. There is no competition in California. Mass can't buy health insurance in Vermont. The #1 most expensive state for insurance is Vermont. The #1 cheapest insurance is in Vermont. Citizens in VT can save a ton of mondy TODAY by just repealing anti-trust exception for healthcare. What you don't understand is there is NO COMPETITION. Companies inside each state have locked out the competition from out of state.
@kelvinjavier Your assuming if there is more competition that the price will reduce, there is no evidence for your claim? Remember for HMO's to make money, they need healthy and sick people, deny coverage whom can't afford it, pre-existing conditions and increase rates. Preventative care or managed care works and reduces cost in the long term, France is the best example of this, name me one lassiez-faire model for healthcare that works?
@sisque16 Name me one universal system that works. France doesn't work. They need insanely large taxes to support it. Mark my words, were going to get a VAT tax like France.
@kelvinjavier Where's your evidence? Taxes that's it? The US spends 8-9k versus France's 4k per capita, our healthcare will amount to roughly 16%-20% gdp by 2020, whereas France will be at 12-15%, cheaper drug costs, etc. As for taxes, France does pays more, but not for healthcare; when you consider costs of insurance in the US "adds in the costs of buying insurance and the higher out-of-pocket expenses for medicine, doctors and hospitals" the U.S pays more.
Thank you very much. We need more politicians like Alan Grayson who are not getting bribes/payoffs from the health insurance lobbyists and who speak for the majority of Americans.
Also, we've already tried a so-called market driven health care system and it's not fucking working. The entire rest of the world thrives on at the least a combination of private insurance with a single payer system as well. We could use a little of that kind of "socialism" here in the US.
Pure socialism sees the government controlling all the means of production.
I am certainly not against free enterprise, but I feel that the nation would be betteroff with some industries heavily regulated at the least. And history has proven me right.
I disagree, Europe is now reactionary against decades of this socialism lite policy making, bankrupt systems and stagnant growth and wages are part of that system.
Private enterprise drives innovation and lowers prices, government fixation does not, it stunts innovation and market paradigms.
@sdmikev . Health care has a special exception from anti-trust laws. There is no free market for health care. A report released Thursday by Department of Health found that cost are NOT going to be lower for services and the budget for healthcare will NOT go down. There is your 'thriving'.
@sdmikev Or hell, look at the Swiss system. Private insurance companies, but all of them are required by law to offer a certain level of coverage to any who apply for it on which these insurers are forbidden to make a profit. If you can afford better, you can have it, and if you have trouble paying, there are subsidies. There's your free market reform, and it's not even on the radar screen in American politics. Because it's not about making HC better, it's about keeping the profits high.
Oh bullshit. It's not socialism. Do you think every other industrialized nation is socialist? Japan? Taiwan? Australia? Canada? Germany? Switzerland? New Zealand? etc etc etc.
@kelvinjavier It's true that the USA is far more conservative economically, (and politically and socially) than those other countries. Yet it doesn't make those other countries socialist. Socialism is the public ownership of the means of production.
If we don't use words in a way that accords with their actual meaning then it's all just hyperbole and political bullshitting. The you start to sound like Sarah Palin.
Flash. Department of Health last week released a report that the bill will NOT control rising cost for services nor reduce government spending on health care. What ever you call it or wrap it, it is what it is and it does not look good.

The government runs on deficits/credit as is. We're trillions in debt as a nation, yet they're going to provide health care to anyone who wants it? Who's going to pay for it? If the people are paying for it, how does that in turn help the people who can't afford anything as is? The only reason Medicare has kept above water is because you're forced to pay into it, and only a fraction of the country uses it. The Obama administration is considering a national sales tax, aka VAT. Google it.
Do you realize we are the only industrialized nation that does NOT have universal coverage, yet we PAY MORE than any other country, and we ranked 37TH in health care in a study done by the world health organization.
So you explain that to me, if you can.
You're being fed lies by FAUX, so get the freaking facts or SHUT UP and get out of the way!!
Just saw your message (haven't logged in for a while), but "health care police" (if you want to call it that) is EXACTLY what we need to keep the private insurers from doing whatever the hell they want. Denying whoever they want for whatever reason and kicking people off their coverage when when they get sick (rescission triggers). With 48,000 people dying PER YEAR from lack of health insurance these insurance companies sure aren't doing a very good job of "policing" themselves.
Unless you've been living in a cave (or only watch FAUX) you certainly know what kind of crap people pull when there's no one watching over them. Everything that went down with BP and the oil spill, the derivatives and bad mortgages that were designed to fail in the housing market, etc... and it's NO DIFFERENT with health insurance:
youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=_29CCVI1ao4
So I would LOVE to hear how "health care police" is a step in the "wrong direction"!
@dominegem It will be called VAT. It is on it's way. Pelosi was already pushing for it before the healtcare act. It is the only way the socialist can get funds to pay for this.
HA HA HA HA HA! I love it! You dumbass G.O.P tea bagger, conservatives can't handle the truth, what a f*cking fool u r. "I OBSTRUCT" the only thing being obstructed is your breathing, by the right wing NUTS that r in your mouth. Keep whining & crying, it's music to my ears.
@Ebm3Dls The truth is from the Department of Health last Thrusday. In thier report they found cost for services will NOT go down and the budget for healthcare will NOT go down. Who do I get to kick in the nuts for screwing that one up?
@kelvinjavier U Dumb F*cking T-Bagger, Shut the F*ck up! I bet U never read the actual report! U have no clue what UR talking about the report is pretty much the same as the report this same Actuary gave in Jan 2010 & it also backs-up many STRENGTHS of the REFORM. (this report was done due to the changes made during Reconciliation). None of the info is new or secret, it's the same info that was available B4 Reform passed & nothing in it conflicts with the CBO.
@Ebm3Dls Last Thursday the Department of Health and Human services released a report. The report stated that the healthcare bill will NOT reduce the cost of services and will NOT reduce budget for healthcare. Is this what you wanted? It is what you got. Can I kick you in the nuts to show my appreciation?
@kelvinjavier The CBO estimates look at the deficit. CMS is looking at total national health expenditures. This often confuses people into thinking that there's conflict between the 2 sets of #'s when there isn't: CBO says fed spending is going to go up to pay for the coverage expansion, but that savings & revenue will go up by even more, leading to a net reduction in the federal deficit.
@kelvinjavier CMS is looking only at the spending side. & here's what it finds: In 2019, implementation of the Reform will reduce the ranks of the uninsured by 34 million people & increase nation health expenditures by 1%.
& that 1% is actually 1% & falling: When the legislation is fully implemented in 2016, the spending increase will be 2%. But cost controls kick in over those years and bring it down to 1%.
@Ebm3Dls That is completely untrue. The CMS report actually states that by 2019 that without Obama healthcare reform the costs would be 20.8 GDP. The costs with Obama healthcare would be 21.1 GDP. So HR3962 is going to actually cost more and not save it.
@kelvinjavier Yeah it would be 20.8 of GDP with atleast 34 million more uninsured & with that many more uninsured where is the future reduction going to come from? So it's .3 of GDP higher with more than 34 million more insured & by 2019 many more cost control measures will be in place which will further slow the increase in HealthCare costs.
@Ebm3Dls Where does the report talk about cost control. Which page? I would like to see these cost control measures. You don't get additional .8 GDP with costs control in place. Page 1 of the October report is very clear. It talkes about the possible additional tax sources. Here comes the VAT. Why don't you just keep calling me a dumbasss. I think the more times you call me a dumbass, the more likely your version of the truth will be real.
@kelvinjavier Assuming the trend holds, the 2nd decade will see national health expenditures fall below what spending would've been if the bill hadn't passed. So that's the bottom line of the report: We're covering 34 million people & come 2019, spending is expected to be one percentage point & falling above what it would've been if we'd done nothing. So again what's really changed since his 1st report. Do some actual HOMEWORK DumbAss.
@Ebm3Dls Prove it. Where are your numbers? Who says expenditures will go down? Why am I asking? A report from Health and Humans Services says exactly the opposite.
@kelvinjavier Not to mention that no one has ever said we would be spending less $ 10 yrs, 20 yrs or 30 yrs than we are spending today. How f*cking STUPID are U? The goal has always been to reduce the rate that HealthCare cost are increasing. & this Reform does that unless the Republicans F*ck it up with future legislation (which is a likely possibility). Turn off Fox News & stop reading Cons Blogs MORON. & if U want to Kick some NUTS just take out the ones you've been T-Baggin & Kick them
@Ebm3Dls Department of Health and Human Service is not FOX news. The Secretary of Health and Human Services is White House appointed personally by Obama. These are numbers from Obamas personal appointee. Although you would like to believe they are from FOX news they are not. If you voted to reduce the rate that healthcare is RISING, then you voted for NO change for the direction of the collaspe of the USA due to healthcare costs.
@kelvinjavier Again DumbAss read the REPORT for yourself rather than just repeating the Conservative SPIN that you've been seeing on Fox & reading on Conservative Blogs.
By Richard S. Foster, Chief Actuary
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Office of the Actuary
April 22, 2010 (38 pages)
it's probaly not a good thing when you're using the same TALKING POINTS as BECK, LIMBAUGH & HANNITY. & while your at U may want to read his earlier report.
@petebradt Unfortunately what we got is increased costs for services and federal budget for healtcare rising to 21.1 GDP by 2019. This is not healthcare that is going to save the country, it is going to bankrupt it.
Fuck i thought all Americans were stupid!! We all just figured that you love a third world equivalent health care system. At least there is one person that understands something other than lining his own pockets.

So I would LOVE to hear how "health care police" is a step in the "wrong direction"!
BootBazaar 1 year ago

Who do I get to kick in the nuts for screwing that one up?
kelvinjavier 1 year ago
@kelvinjavier U Dumb F*cking T-Bagger, Shut the F*ck up! I bet U never read the actual report! U have no clue what UR talking about the report is pretty much the same as the report this same Actuary gave in Jan 2010 & it also backs-up many STRENGTHS of the REFORM. (this report was done due to the changes made during Reconciliation). None of the info is new or secret, it's the same info that was available B4 Reform passed & nothing in it conflicts with the CBO.
Ebm3Dls 1 year ago
@Ebm3Dls Last Thursday the Department of Health and Human services released a report. The report stated that the healthcare bill will NOT reduce the cost of services and will NOT reduce budget for healthcare. Is this what you wanted? It is what you got. Can I kick you in the nuts to show my appreciation?
kelvinjavier 1 year ago
@kelvinjavier The CBO estimates look at the deficit. CMS is looking at total national health expenditures. This often confuses people into thinking that there's conflict between the 2 sets of #'s when there isn't: CBO says fed spending is going to go up to pay for the coverage expansion, but that savings & revenue will go up by even more, leading to a net reduction in the federal deficit.
Ebm3Dls 1 year ago
@kelvinjavier CMS is looking only at the spending side. & here's what it finds: In 2019, implementation of the Reform will reduce the ranks of the uninsured by 34 million people & increase nation health expenditures by 1%.
& that 1% is actually 1% & falling: When the legislation is fully implemented in 2016, the spending increase will be 2%. But cost controls kick in over those years and bring it down to 1%.
Ebm3Dls 1 year ago
@Ebm3Dls That is completely untrue. The CMS report actually states that by 2019 that without Obama healthcare reform the costs would be 20.8 GDP. The costs with Obama healthcare would be 21.1 GDP. So HR3962 is going to actually cost more and not save it.
kelvinjavier 1 year ago
@kelvinjavier Yeah it would be 20.8 of GDP with atleast 34 million more uninsured & with that many more uninsured where is the future reduction going to come from? So it's .3 of GDP higher with more than 34 million more insured & by 2019 many more cost control measures will be in place which will further slow the increase in HealthCare costs.
Ebm3Dls 1 year ago
@Ebm3Dls Where does the report talk about cost control. Which page? I would like to see these cost control measures. You don't get additional .8 GDP with costs control in place. Page 1 of the October report is very clear. It talkes about the possible additional tax sources. Here comes the VAT. Why don't you just keep calling me a dumbasss. I think the more times you call me a dumbass, the more likely your version of the truth will be real.
kelvinjavier 1 year ago
@kelvinjavier Assuming the trend holds, the 2nd decade will see national health expenditures fall below what spending would've been if the bill hadn't passed. So that's the bottom line of the report: We're covering 34 million people & come 2019, spending is expected to be one percentage point & falling above what it would've been if we'd done nothing. So again what's really changed since his 1st report. Do some actual HOMEWORK DumbAss.
Ebm3Dls 1 year ago
@Ebm3Dls Prove it. Where are your numbers? Who says expenditures will go down? Why am I asking? A report from Health and Humans Services says exactly the opposite.
kelvinjavier 1 year ago
@kelvinjavier Not to mention that no one has ever said we would be spending less $ 10 yrs, 20 yrs or 30 yrs than we are spending today. How f*cking STUPID are U? The goal has always been to reduce the rate that HealthCare cost are increasing. & this Reform does that unless the Republicans F*ck it up with future legislation (which is a likely possibility). Turn off Fox News & stop reading Cons Blogs MORON. & if U want to Kick some NUTS just take out the ones you've been T-Baggin & Kick them
Ebm3Dls 1 year ago
@Ebm3Dls Department of Health and Human Service is not FOX news. The Secretary of Health and Human Services is White House appointed personally by Obama. These are numbers from Obamas personal appointee. Although you would like to believe they are from FOX news they are not. If you voted to reduce the rate that healthcare is RISING, then you voted for NO change for the direction of the collaspe of the USA due to healthcare costs.
kelvinjavier 1 year ago
@kelvinjavier Again DumbAss read the REPORT for yourself rather than just repeating the Conservative SPIN that you've been seeing on Fox & reading on Conservative Blogs.
By Richard S. Foster, Chief Actuary
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Office of the Actuary
April 22, 2010 (38 pages)
it's probaly not a good thing when you're using the same TALKING POINTS as BECK, LIMBAUGH & HANNITY. & while your at U may want to read his earlier report.
Ebm3Dls 1 year ago
@Ebm3Dls It is actually 34 pages. Which page do you want me to look at?

"liberals mostly all live on the social system?"
that's not true, Conservative states are tax consumers and Liberal states are tax generators. get your facts right.

Thank you, Rep. Grayson, for saying what my own pathetic representative, Zoe Lofgren, will not. Donation sent.
petebradt 2 years ago 4
@petebradt Unfortunately what we got is increased costs for services and federal budget for healtcare rising to 21.1 GDP by 2019. This is not healthcare that is going to save the country, it is going to bankrupt it.
