"Zuleyxa" is actually a Turkish song. If it sounds much like Azeri, that's b/c she has an azeri accent. Our languages used to be VERY MUCH alike before the soviet era. It's funny I remember Brilliant singing this song representing Azerbaijan in one of those soviet TV broadcasting channels (can't remember which one). They probably coudn't tell the difference between Azeri and Turkish in this song either. Otherwise, they woudn't have allowed "Zuleyxa" to represent Azerbaycan those days.

Mahnin sozlerine dikketle qulag assan, goreceksen ki, Azerbaycanca oxuyur. Mesela Turkce ben deyilir amma mahnida men ve saire.
