  • @Campeize this iteration of the 427 has the mildest cam yet. It is an off the shelf General Motors Performance Parts (GMPP) item - I believe it is called the World Challenge cam. Mid .600's lift Nothing close to the .719 lift of the first cam I had in the 427.

  • @rkd350z Thanks - yeah the wing is at 0* angle there. Proper setup is about 3 clicks down from that.

  • @rkd350z ACP C5 World Challenge splitter with flat undertray. APR made up the carbon fibre undertray to fint the ACP splitter.

  • How can you guys call the wing stupid? This car is pulling nearly the same power and darn close to the same weight as a COMPETITION Pratt & Miller C6.R LeMans Racing Coupe. You would have to be bonkers not to get that under control.

  • @offroad03able fair enough, but how would you propose to balance the downforce of the front splitter and undertray? If you add downforce at the front you HAVE to balance it at the rear other wise the car will handle like a piece of crap. ;)

It still looks great, I was just saying that is the only part of the car that I didn't care for. Great car though. I just got to listen to the new cam in my ZO6. It is sick! Nice mean lope to it. I love it! Just got it back from the shop today from having a stage II blower cam put in it. It is the same color as your car.

  • @freedomsoldier187 the cost of upgrading the 346ci LS6 is the essentially the same as building a 427ci LS7 with upgraded internals.

  • @RCFourFive really? I would of thought you need to replace everything with the LS7 like tailshaft, driveshafts, diff, clutch therefore costing more? I don't know as I'm from Australia they don't have vette's out here but I love them and I'd love to import a C5 Zo6 and work it to about 400rwhp, but the problem is under our laws all imports less then 20 years old have to be converted to right hand drive which is like a 30k job, and I'm convinced that it would screw with the balance of the car

  • @freedomsoldier187 the C5 and C6 Corvette platforms are for all intnets and purposes the same.

    Shared components with minimal internal and other mechanical changes.

    Parts and components are 100% interchangable. The C6 is a point version upgrade of the C5 and really could be called C5.5

    The LS7 is dimensioanlly identical to the rest fo the LSx motors, same with the rest of the drive train.

  • @freedomsoldier187 it was an awesome daily driver. Between 2002 and 2007 I put 80,000 miles on the 346ci LS6. When I was well behaved the combined hiway/urban cycle was 20mpg, when I was a leadfoot (most days hehe) the combined average was 16mpg. At the road course the average was 9mpg.

    On long road tips the average was about 27mpg, with hiway consumption right at 30mpg.

    The 427ci isnt that bad considering, cruising average is about 22mpg, urban cycle about 14mpg and road course about 5mpg.

    6th gear is about 1400rpm at 60mph.

  • @TestaVette I am running stock C5 Z06 rear wheels (18" x 10.5") on the front and replica C5 Z06 wider (18" x 12") wheels on the rear. The replicas came from House of Wheels. They are a little heavier than I would like, but they retain the stock look and allow for wider (335/30) tyres. I run 305/30's on the front. For the track I have aset of 18" x 12" CCW Classics that go on the rear.

    The stock C5 Z06 rears do clear the C6 Z06 brakes on the front.

  • It is an ACP products overlay splitter with a custom APR fabricated CF undertray I put together.

  • Yeah - the wing is a alot of wing, but need to balance the undertray and front splitter, but is of course overkill fo rthe street and gets crazy gawks, stares and mad fingers waved at it :)

  • Exhaust System? Does the Hood really fit THAT bad?

  • The car currently has stock Titanium C5Z06 mufflers - but with electric cut-outs opened fo rthe video.

    And the hood is not that bad, the real problem is the front polyurathne bumper is being "pulled away" by the way I have the overlay splitter mounted and the radiator opening cut. This does exagerate the front gap on the hood - but its duty is being a light weight carbon fibre heat extractor hood, not a showcar hood :)

  • I know some Turbo charged Vettes require hoods similar yours. Are u hiding something under there? What #'s is she pushing?

  • The hood is a heat extractor hood - to allow for outflow of engine bay heat and aid front down force.

    As for whats hiding under there, its a forged 427, depending on th ecam and tuune, it's putting around about 530hp to the ground - around 600fwhp.
