Im 29yo now and when I was 9 or 10yo, my uncle John used to play this song many times on his big piano. When I heard this song for first time I felt in love with this song completely. I remember crearly when I was next to the piano watchin him to play this song, closing my eyes and imagining that I was somewhere. 15 years later I realize the lyrics in that song and I dedicated this song to the person whom I love today. !!! ... "I get Misty just holding you Hand"...
I've never seen your face, and I don't know your name. I have listened to many of your pieces, usually in the early hours. I am intrigued by your hands. Perhaps I could recognize them anywhere. You play very delicately. I am a fan.
kurt11110 reminds me of the husband violin player in The Prince Of Tides.
if you're worried about your shaky hands why not wait until the buzz has worn off and then do the video. but really, that's just your excuse for a lackluster performance, yes? get a metronome and try to stay on task. and let's keeps the wrong notes to a minimum, shall we? chord changes are a beautiful thing, look into it . otherwise you are talented and intelligent performer ...
I agree, I should have waited for the buzz to wear off, and it is a lackluster performance :) as far as the chord progressions, yeah could've added some sub chords and made it more interesting. Sorry if I offended your well tuned ear--and the metronome, I teach piano, so I own about 10 of them. Thanks for not tearing me to shreds.
i admit i can be a bit intemperate in my conclusions, but i do admire your talent and think you have a good ear, which you no doubt already know and don't need me to tell you : )
It's a performance you shouldn't have done with or without the Starbucks Frapp in light of how you feel about the song. How could you possibly demonstrate a positive interpretation?
I love the way she plays this and I would bet my ass that you can't even come close. Sorry, I just stand people who try to sound like they know about music, when most are tone deaf.
i have 34 songs posted on my website. while my style of playing may or may not appeal to you, it's a good bet that i'm not tone deaf. if you have any doubts about my playing ability
please listen to prince of central park, have a quinn martin day, or for no one.
I listened to your tunes... and she blows you away. no prefab casio tracks needed to enhance her playing. she's a true, old school pianist, and not a wannabe with a cheap keyboard.
Like you, Starbucks isn't such a good idea when performing, Caramel Machiatto's (sp?) are my weakness. You play this well, as most everyone asks to hear it. Dan Coates books have the best arrangements of these standards, varied enough they sound updated and fresh. You might like Time0207's version. Thanks.
Such lush playing reminds me why I love the piano so much. Your solo is so relaxed and sensitive too. Awesome work Laurie. I gotta get back to work on Misty now >_<
I love it !!!! very good indeed!!! Thanks for sharing here. Regards.
