  • too soon? too late, they should not stop drilling in the gulf

  • I think this guy needs to remember that we get a small portion of our oil from the middle east, and there is no threat that the suez cannal is going to shut down. He just trying to use this to push his agenda. just another Republican oportunist trying to use conflict to create panic and push their agenda

  • @durhamdf You know nothing of what Mr. Obama's drilling ban has done to our (Louisiana's) economy, nor do you know what his permit system is doing to us now. This isn't anyone pushing an agenda, this is a representative doing his job. And I am DAMN glad that I voted for him.

  • @DOUCHEBAGSTOOKMYNAME Very little, the oil industry in Louissiana is much smaller than your fishing and tourism industries which basically got wiped off the map by the BP spill. What we are just going to let these morons drill in deep water again before they design a new system to address oil spills. Fuck that. And my point above was that actuall oil supply has a small effect on the price of oil, and the U.S. gets a small percentage of its oil from the Middle East. Conservatives will use (contd)

  • @durhamdf So you really do know nothing about Louisiana's economy, because that is FAR from true. Tourism in Louisiana consists of Swamp Tours (never were big) and Mardi Gras for the most part. Oil is WAYYY bigger in than the seafood industry because the only people who live off of fishing, shrimping, etc, are in the small bayou communities that surround the major cities. (Continued)

  • @DOUCHEBAGSTOOKMYNAME For example: Houma, Louisiana is one of the many cities that have FLOURISHED off of Oil production. The reason we have almost completely avoided the recission for quite some time was because of our Oil production. I personally know many people who have either lost their job or has lost plenty of buisness because of the lack of oil drilling in the gulf. I can account personally of what this is doing to us, and frankly, it is not good.

  • @DOUCHEBAGSTOOKMYNAME And Dularge, Louisiana is a fishing community, which is now getting back on track after the oil spill, so the fishing industry in our area is back on its feet. Don't try to educate me on how my state works, when I've lived here all my life. Especially if you don't know what you're talking about. The recession is hitting us now, harder than ever, because we have been able to avert the economic crisis because of the oil.

  • @DOUCHEBAGSTOOKMYNAME (contd) any excuse to call for drilling just like liberals will use any excuse to call for gun control. But why do you think this congressman is calling for drilling in Louissiana? Because Americans are stupid and they think that if we drill it here oil will be cheaper when in reality the opposite is true
