Delta Shield and Justice Shield are all you need for this battle. A Glyph of Might for Vyse and a Aura of Valor for good measure is utter doomage for Ramirez.

You know, spamming Aura of Denial would've made this battle so much easier. Think about it. He's constantly trying to weaken you with drillnos or his normal attacks, stone you with your own lunar glyph, or insta-death you with eternum, all of which could be prevented completely.

Most everything become easier if you keep doing Delta Shield with Aika, and Justice Shield with Enrique. Aoe spell prevention and half damage for everyone. Usin' Vyse for any attacking 'n Fina for any buffs or heals via the crystal items, or focusing if none're needed. Though the nightmare skill might mess things up slightly...

@Maplekitty Sure, I realize that, but it's best to only use the defenses that fit your enemy's attack patterns best. Since this boss mainly uses specials (his and yours) and debuffs (including insta-death), Aura of Denial (and maybe Increm/Incremus for the defense) is the way to go with Gilder in your party. This battle isn't particularly hard, but Aura of Denial can be a godsend on certain wanted battles, particularly Daikokuya the Wealthy, so it's not always best to use Enrique.

@Nejove Kinda sad to say, but I've never, ever used this Aura of Denial skill...ever! No idea what it does...but I'm guessing complete status change prevention?

@Maplekitty You're basically right, but the nice thing is that it only blocks NEGATIVE status effects, meaning stuff like Lunar Blessing and Increm will still work. It only costs 3 spirit points, too, so it's definitely worth using against bosses where status effects are a royal pain. When those effects are not caused by magic (like confusion from Golden Flurry or petrification from Lunar Glyph via Silver Nightmare), it's the only real way to avoid them.

um...just a question...why make Vyce use a Riselem Crystal when Aika was just standing there collecting dust? Or even Fina would have been better so that you could dish out some damage that turn Remember, if you aren't damaging the enemy at least once per turn, it's generally not the greatest stratagy in the world.

the great thing about this game is the fact that its not about raising your level and ohkoing the final boss...unlike some rpgs. in this game you need to use your BRAIN and think. is he gonna use magic? ad if so do i cast an anit magic spell?

I like how most boss battles weren't a matter of the boss's HP, it was a matter of what they did to stop you from attacking with your full force. Getting a hit in was sometimes a pain, unless you were a cheapass and just spammed Shield of Justice / Delta Shield XD

The first time I beat this game all of my characters were at the 32-38 range.

He was REALLY hard at such a low level. But you could have used Gilder's Aura of Denial and you'd be good to go as it blocks adverse effects.

This boss only has five attacks:

Normal attack

2 magic attacks: Drilnos and Eternum

2 super moves: Silver Binds and Silver Nightmare

If you would just USE AIKA'S DELTA SHIELD, his Drilnos and Eternum wouldn't do anything. Sure, Delta Shield also blocks friendly healing magic, but it doesn't block healing items or healing super moves.

With Delta Shield up, the only move Ramirez has that's really a problem is the Silver Nightmare.

Don't forget he also has Destruction. He uses it very rarely and it removes all positive status effects.

Yeah... I fought the black loop inside DarkRift and gain up to level 99, plus i brought some of the seeds for adding stats and upgrade each character i had into max stats... turns out it did a great result on the boss for i kill the 3different parts of the final within20 minutes or less..

I do. Hell, I use Justice Shield all of the time. Accept in this battle, it's not very necessary considering he doesn't spam an attack that massively damages all party members (Silver Eqlipse anyone?). I mean, yeah, he's got Silver Binds and that does a lot of damage, but it only hits one party member and you can just heal them with Sacrulen.

I just used a real cheap ass tactic for this guy , leveled and boosted Vyse's attack power to the point that pirates wrath did 9999 damage (bought a shit load of those power seeds) then just had everyone guard / focus and killed him in about 3 of those. :D

This can beat any boss with ease. Getting cute and creative with the bosses in this game gets you killed pretty easily.

not really..the strategy you put up is effectve, but cheap and makes the game too easy, barring a few bosses that even with this strategy, are still hard (Piastol 4, Daikokuya and Lord Bane come to mind right now)

they had to compress the Gamecube versions music so they could fit it on the smaller disk, cos if they hadn't, it woulda probably came with 2 disks like the DC version, and GC disks were quite expensive to make because the were so small, so the just chose the option that was cheapest basically lol

The secret SP moves when the Spirit Guage is full is awesome. I use Blue Rogues more than Prophecy. That attack is awesome.

Oh, and this fight has the BEST music in the game, I hate the need to beat it, so I just sit and listen to it.

There's a sword better than the Vorlick Blade. You get it by defeating Vigoro the final time (optional 4th boss, must have a Vyse the Bounty Hunter rank or above) at Cresent Isle. It's HUGE n comparison to the Vorlick.

Oh sorry i forget to say if you wanna lv up to lv99, i dunno about the GC version but on dreamcast it's pretty easy, just have a good strategy and around lv68 and go to Esperanza and then enter inside the dark rift, if my remember are good in the place wher you fight a monster you will find a giant Looper black colored with orange eyes and mouth, go fight it's a fight for your character he is called Elcian

Long time i don't play this game, i've play it on Dreamcast at the japanese release, but in 2001 my Dreamcast die when i was playing PSO... I still have my 3VMU and my save of Eternal with all the characters at lv99 at the time i've totally finish the game, vyse the legend etc etc

This is good, but you were kind of slow. I beat him in about under 4 minutes. it was pretty quick, but that's because I had a couple of Aura of Valors, but even then, I tried without it and it was under 6 minutes. Use Drachma and his one supermove that doubles his possible spirit points, it's worth it.

Cast delta shield at the beginning of each turn so that he can't use magic against you. and also I love this game :)

Gilder is also stronger than other chars on his level and thats why theyre missing a very long time . and as i remember Drachma isnt that strong... he may have a strong attack ,much life and a high defense but he has less Mp and hes slow.

Drachma is Stronger than Gilder, he got less Mp & slow, true, but so what, Mp(Magic Pt) has nothing to do with strength, even if he's slow, he's still strong; just about all of Old Man's attacks are strong, Gilder differ. from Drach., because he's stronger than others but little bit weaker than Drach. but he got slight more MP than Old Man but compare to others, Gilder's MP isn't all that, better stay with attack than magic; I know, I still play this game
