"If one makes an error in playing, always repeat...the error that is...and only during the same performance." :) Mrs. Baughman - My piano teacher when I was five years old in 1967. Beautifully performed. Listen to Horowitz sometime; no need to criticize unless you can outperform.
In the last hundredth second of 1:08, the pianist makes a mistake, right? In the last part of the scale it sounds a little bit impure, or not? It can be that Alessandro plays this polonaise op. 26 no. 1 like this video, but it also can be a little mistake. I doubt, because he does the same thing in the scales after the scale in 1:08, so... It also can be like his style to play this Polonaise from Chopin.
@zangdaarr You should play it 2 hands, it really is an enjoyable piece to play perhaps it loses some of it's magic if you have to play with someone else.

I have to play this Polonaise at 4 hands. What we have is not really far away from this (musically).
However, I don't like this Polonaise :(

Agree, good cresc, rit, tone variations, (mistake 2min6sec). Love Pollini. Try Leonskaja too. For 2nd movmt, try Evgeny.
Last 2 notes of phrase such as in 13 & 39 seconds should I feel be more rit. & expressivo as I feel signif. statements within the music.
Tried perf at 17 but rather badly! Didnt stress emphasis 1,3&5th notes of 2nd movmt. Fun piece to play & perf!

I recommend the Malcuzynski's version, or the Pollini's version
