I used to wear black liner all over my rims for day 'cause I felt more "confident" but when I saw other girls with light makeup looking "fresh" I wanted to take my makeup off lol. Now I save all my smoky looks for night, I think it makes the smoky look feel more special and novel and exciting:) but yeah, I think wearing dark dark makeup in the day looks just too much. And I've noticed guys notice me MORE when I'm wearing the "natural" look, funny huh.

@helenajeon80 And also, we'd think guys would be clueless about makeup but they're not! they really do know if you're wearing too much and do know that you don't look like that in the morning lol I've also noticed how "classy" women don't wear gaudy makeup or even a smoky look in the day. Look at most editor-in-chiefs and other women in certain higher places. 'Tis just what I've noticed. :) Again, matter of taste.

@Johannnnnah124 I generally don't have a huge problem with a look like this (I have dark hazel eyes, and they read brown some days more than others) you just can't get away with over-blending otherwise it'll look really muddy. But otherwise, I think it looks good! Hope this helps.

@roxysimmons It's a palette I put together myself. Much like Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier has customizable compacts in sizes of 3 or 6 squares that you can fill with blush, eyeshadows, and eyeliners. Pretty cool! The items in mine were Rose Petale Blush, Chocolate Eyeshadow, and Noir Eyeshadow

For example, I think foundation and powder are worth the money to buy a more expensive brand. Some of my favorite eyeshadows are NYX which costs a couple dollars per shade. I have spent a long time working on my collection to pull from, but if I had to buy everything from scratch...I wouldn't!
