I think the problem is that your soundtrack isn't "dark" or "half life" enough. Listen to the original half life soundtrack. Listen to tracks like "Drums and Riffs" and "Dimenious Deepness" Those are soundtracks that made half life what it is. Even still I think that City 17 still lacks "darkness" so to speak, and I think you should make a new video and have a track inspired by the original half life soundtrack. Then maybe you will have the purchase brothers attention. Great soundtrack though.
I'm suprised they didn't decide to work with you. You do a really great job making OST ( Original Soundtrack ). The only suggestion is that the music should be quieter during talking parts, and the music should be less electronica, you know? I think it should be more... James Bond type. Listen to Quantom of Solice OST and you'll know what I'm talking about. Try to make it more like that. But it's still great.
I liked it all besides the very end. That was completely unnecessary. I still think it was better originally anyway. The ambience and sound effects in the background work on their own.

You definitely have great potential in my opinion but I don't think you should have used this video which was already perfected without the music. Subtle underlying tones may have worked better. And I think half life needs a more grimy feel to the music... Kelly Bailey got it down perfect in the game and the music during the preview of part 2 at the end of the full video is just awesome and so fitting. Good job though :)
I'm curious as to how 4:35 was done... The CP looks CG like someone used a sensor suit and fitted the animations with that model... Otherwise that's a damn good costume, and me wants it =D

I am just happy that I was able to do this, and hopefully down the road you will see my music involved in other amazing science fiction projects. It's a pretty good compliment to the original film as far as I'm concerned. As for them not wishing to work with you, it's probably because they already have their hands full with the bigger Hollywood players interested in working with them so don't take it personally.
That was really good but if you could have worked it in with the original multi-layered audio instead of just adding the music over the top of it all, it would have been tons better. So fingers crossed you can work with them! Once again... awsome...

Although, this is just my thought, i do fully agree with the "Classical" music that you have inputted, but during HL2, you will notice a more "Grungy-Urban-Rock" kind of music, if the two were mixed together, i think a masterpiece is in store for us.

Well The Purchase Brothers gave it a very accurate look, I just tried to duplicate the authenticity of keeping it feeling like a Half Life experience. I just hope to work with them for real! Dude, your work was awesome! but in minute 3:00 to 3:30 i felt the music was louder than the action we were seeing.. its not entirely bad but you have to be careful with that. And i hope Purchase Brothers contact you, you deserve it.. by the way, i think that U83RPWN3R was right, the music was a bit dramatic.
