  • There is something phony about this guy! Trust me! Something is off... He is still trying to figure out things for himself. Spiritual seekers beware.

  • like if you're a progressive christian too :) <3

  • THANK YOU... and thank you also for NOT useing a lavishly expencive background for this video. I believe this helps.

  • You are not a church! You are heretical to the core!

  • @Haukman66

    Quiet. These are good people. Christianity needs a progressive revolution just like Judaism had.

  • I like the idea of progressive Christianity. I can't figure progressive Christianity out. Christianity to me tries to prevent change. Christianity fought against all progress that happened in America from slavery to gays.

    I wonder if atheists are welcome as in the kind of atheist who rejects the oncept that any divine inspiration made it into the Bible.

  • 'Progressive' is an interesting word.

    The question it raises for me is 'progress' towards what?

    If we are saying the Christ is not THE answer, are we truly being ethical in calling ourselves 'Christians'?

    If we pick and choose which teachings of Christ we follow, are we really followers of Christ, or are we merely following our own hearts?

    Open windows are great, but where have we built our house?

  • @DragoonEnNoir

    Are non-believing people pure evil for their lack of belief in the proclamations of the so called God's messengers,

  • Non-believers are not 'pure evil', and in action can often be as 'good' (in human reckoning) as believers.

    It is not our goodness or actions that separate us, but rather our attitude towards God.

    Do we accept Him as Lord, or do we reject Him?

    (Note: A believer SHOULD become more 'like God' though as the Holy Spirit works in them... and this is part of the fruit that demonstrates that our submission to God is real.)

  • Where in the gospels does Jesus require us to accept him as Lord?

  • That's rather a strange question, because my general answer would be "everywhere!"

    If you boiled down the central gospel message, it could be;

    1) repent of your sins

    2) turn back to God through His Son Jesus the Christ (by accepting Him as Lord)

    3) allow the Spirit to make you more like Christ

  • If you'd like specific passages, two that come to mind are;

    - "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved- you and your household." (Acts 16:3)

    - "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that Gods raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

  • Sry late reply Dragoon... you say everywhere, but don´t find one single line in the gospels. The books u refear too are not Jesus sayings nor taken from the gospels. To repent your sins? John the baptist said that also, but that doesn´t mean we have to believe in John as the LORD. My question still applies WHERE IN THE GOSPELS DOES JESUS REQUIRE US TO ACCEPT HIM AS LORD?

  • @PjotrII

    Hi Pjotrll,

    Some sample passages would be;

    "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

    "I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!"(John 8:58)

    I included that latter passage, because the concept of Jesus' lordship is obviously tied closely to whether he is God... and the Jews clearly understood him to be saying that as they tried to stone him for blasphemy.

  • "...the truth is universal"

    It is in the sense that there is one God over all, but the teachings of different faiths is contradictory. To say that the teachings of all faiths are equally valid is an empty statement.

    Definitely there should be respect for each other, but respect does not mean we must AGREE with everything others believe.

    Christ himself is clear. "No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If that is 'exclusive', then who will you follow? Christ or man?

  • I'm very glad this kind of information is out here. The mainstream media largely presents Christianity as the Evangelical fundamentalism of a Jerry Falwell or a John Hague.

    People need to know there is a wide variety of ways of being Christian.

  • Man where is the Baptism? Man seems like some people are trying to justify not getting God the way that the Bible states. God did not say that you have a choice about which way you can get to him. (John 3:16-18). Also the Bible says that their is only way to the Father and that is through Jesus (John 14:6). So for you to think that is more than one way to get to Jesus. You can read it for yourself. Make sure that you read it in its full context to understand it.

  • There are lots of questions about the Bible and Jesus. I am a member of the Episcopal church and my priest said it best to me when he said, "the person who asks questions is closer to God than those who doen't."

  • No judgement? Love everybody? What if this gets out?

  • Let's open some windows.

  • and let fresh air in.. that's scary stuff boy! AND that was the best comment reply I have got in a while.. thanks for making my day brighter..

  • My pleasure.
