  • Well I guess it gave you something to do,what was the overall stopping distance at the speed you were riding at you look very close for an advanced ?

  • A nice confident ride, my only observations are that he is often far too close to the vehicles in front '2 second rule' and does not adjust his safety bubble to allow for oncoming vehicles, lorries in particular. The video shows really well the importance of flourescent clothing, at times he blends with the back ground making him practically invisable.

  • Request spot: Do you have any video that illustrates a rider with the habit of turning into corners early and what happens when they come to a corner that tightens up on them unexpectedly mid-bend?

I'm trying to offer gentle hints to somebody about one of their bad habits...

    Ta!

  • I will have a look at my clips, but it may take some time

    Regards

  • Thanks!! I look forward to seeing the fruits of your searching :-)

  • What a transformation, road positioning almost a complete opposite. Having accompanied you on my wife's assessment I have teken on board your advice and my riding is still improving. Using a more responsive gear makes a big difference. Thanks for the advice.

  • The correct gear gives you that flexibility.... The throttle will only work both ways, if you have the correct gear.....

  • Nice video - shows a marked improvement in confidence. You could see he really started to enjoy himself by the end (and more crucially, relax).

  • nice ride nice bike

  • Good improvement and mostly quite smooth too.

I would love to see more videos on narrow lanes with some nasty suprises thrown in for good measure.

  • Will try ansd find some footage

  • Planning and positioning I would say... there are only two things that can be changed when driving or riding and that is position and speed, to always be at the correct speed in the correct position requires good observation and planning. Did I mention too much ???

  • You are on the right lines:

    First ride

    Everywhere in 5th gear

    Slowing down in the bend

Observation not project far enough forward

Uses racing line for the bends

  • OK thanks, it looked to me like he was in the bends before being set up for them. The later ride after instruction looked much cleaner.

  • One of the things I concentrated on was getting him to use a more responsive gear. On the pan we went for 3rd more and higher revs. I worked, making the bike more stable and responsive.

  • good job

  • He must of increased his progress by a third and his safety by half. Job well done.

  • What where they :

Were they his positioning on the road? is it just me or does he seem to try to take the racing line through corners, not staying consistent and planning for the next one?? I have no idea lol :D

    i'm a newbie

  • has this something to do with the police?

  • No, nothing to do with the Police
