just too damn good.. heard most versions.. for me, a very close call for the best between this one and Prince's.. hats off to George Harrison though for this masterpiece that continues to inspire so many guitarists! Peace! :)

I agree with you that Frampton is underrated, but I think he's even better now than he was in the 1970s. He played in my town a few months ago, and I can't wait until he comes back.

No version of "While My Gutiar Gently Weeps" touches the Rock n' Roll Hall of fame version in which Prince takes the lead part. This is quite good, though.

The worst guitar part of all the versions of this song is Eric Clapton. God he is not!

I love Peter Frampton, and his guitar playing is amazing.  George Harrison was a genius who had to work hard at writing songs. This track is pure gold and no one plays it bad.

He's been doing this cover for years but this recording is from his album Now from 2009. It's available on vinyl as well as cd. You are so right.  Totally underrated and an incredible talent. If the record industry hadn't inbsisted on turning him into a teen idol we may have seen more like this in the old days.

I don't comment often, but when I do I try to be positive. That being said, this was an amazing cover of one of the best songs ever written. The solos were amazing.  The vocal was right on. I still feel the original was the definitive version, but this is a well crafted cover by a very very talented artist. Bravo!

Frampton is one of the best rockers of the 60's (lead guitar and foil for Steve Marriott in Humble Pie); 70's (solo) & 80's (solo & with David Bowie) no doubt about it - a stellar talent!
