  • What sort of speed would you do this on a diamond frame? My guess is that it would even out over such a long climb. Just curious and not intended to provoke an argument about recumbents climbing.

  • @greebo954

Don't know, I don't ride a DF anymore, but estimate my speed uphill is about 90% on my Veloktraft VK2 that what I would get on a DF. Bent are making progress these days, new designs based on CF are pretty decent climbers. I did the Etape du tour of Califormia last month with 11000 feet of climbing, honestly I was climbing faster than the crowd, many were quite surprised in fact. New designs based on FWD should climb even better in the future, that should bring us at 95%of DF speed.

  • How can you balance the low racer at that low speed?

  • @ChrisLuxembourg

I worked out my low speed technique, see my others video, Low racer are very easy to balance at low speed, very easy

  • I agree 100%, high cadence is the key. So many times, I see people trying to climb a hill on a bike like they are on a leg press. I like to spin 90 to 120 RPM no matter what the conditions. That's what gears are for people!

  • Definitely impressive. Great climb and nice scenery.
