they built a prototype plane in 1980s which didnt go further. also in WW2 nazis had B-2 -like looking jet.

And a russian scientist wrote stealth theory, which was later used in designing F-117 nighthawk.

oh and... Pak-FA (thats just project name, not plane name) rules! it will be much more cost-efficient than any american 5th gen fighter.

I love her show! Rachels knowledge on the Raptor is wrong! For 1, Each Raptor actually costs $142 million per plane. 2- Maintenance/Hr is 18-20hrs. 3- No critical failures. 4 - Rain caused a few problems when stationed in Guam. 4 -Comunication is not a problem, but future network system has yet to be installed. 5 -Russia has a stealth fighter now that is vastly superior to anything we have except the F-22 and F-35! I still like Rachels show but she's WAY off on this one!

@bujoun76 your $142million per plane figure is how much it costs to produce each individual plane, the $356 million is how much it has cost per plane when u incorporate the R&D cost prior to building the plane, setting up assembly lines, correcting QC errors, etc.

Also to all those individuals citing that its better than the Eurofighter Typhoon because it has stealth?? It cant locate enemy aircraft without switching its radar on at which point..it lights up like a pretty Christmass tree same as any other aircraft. Typhoon beats that by being able to get higher faster thus doubling the range of its ordnance in effect. Plus the reason it can climb higher faster? because its pilots have the new Typhoon G suit meaning they can hold the big Gs INDEFINATELY.
