I dont know about you but i loved the voice acting in this game, the names, the accents were all great it made me really buy into the characters, A LOT more then final fantasy 10 and makes me damn near cry everytime i see the ending.

I swear, Balthier has countless great one-liners and quotable quotes throughout the game. On top of that, he's got a cool suave British accent. Possibly the best written FF character in history.
It isn't so much about the storyline but the progression of the characters that matters. Bottom line is I didn't care for any of the protagonists in FFXII. Could have cared less about their fates. I didn't enjoy the game any less and I'm not bad mouthing it. But that's the problem I feel with FF series lately. It's all about how cool they look, the graphics, and shallow BS. The attachment I felt towards FF6-FF9 has yet to be recreated in the latest installments.

man, i haven't played any of the ff so far, but just watching this ending movie makes me want to play them so hard... just watched the spirits within and advent children and i so want to play any final fantasy right now...
nah I don't think Ashe was jealous or anything. She really doesnt seem to be that kind of person at all. I'm sure she did want Fran back too, its just that with Balthier as the 'leading man'/leader its so obvious that she'd be calling out to him. The thing that would maybe lead me to rank this game slightly below that of FF10 , is the fact there was like no love/couples, and thats almost a trademark of the newer final fantasies, I mean i guess u had Fran & Balthier but wouldn't consider them in the same league as Tidus & Yuna or Zack & Areith .
Ashe bitching about balthier dying when she didn't even mention anything when Zargabaath(who is her enemy up to that point) is ready to give up his life just to save her puny town.Bullshiiiiiiiiiit.And he isnt even mentioned in revenant wings >.< the most epic judge with most epic voice actor Q_Q
This scene is as good as any to comment on just how perfect the story, music, script, and voice talent works. Theres not a single line in the entire game that feels clumsy like most RPGs. Nearly every sentence from all the "adult" characters are like poetry. I wish someone would re-upload the scenes in HD. Final Fantasy XII really deserves it.
Vaan pilots the Strahl out of Bahamut, saving everyone;
Penelo helps him to fly the ship;
Basch swears to protect Larsa;
Larsa stops the battle;
Ashe ends the war;
Fran gets hit by some rubble;
And Balthier?
He makes the Strahl work, fixes Bahamut, call one of the Judges a fool, saves Fran, gets Bahamut out of Rabanastre, saves everyone there, and still lives after all that. Without losing his calm or his sense of humor.
Balthier is the coolest character ever made by Square Enix.

@toadman842 Basch and Gabranth are twins. I can see how that would be confusing. Basch changed his hair to look more like Gabranth's and took the charge of protecting Larsa after Gabranth died.

I didn't like this ending because I didn't like the singing at the end, and I hated Penelo's pants! And she got tattoos!! But I totally loved the part with Fram and Balthier, but I wish we could've gotten more into their personal lives.
@oxmarlenaxo I thought the song was good. I agree with you about Penelo being unattractive until she gets her sexy outfit at the end. And if you want to know more about Fran and Balthier's personal lives, then I guess the most you can do is play Revenant Wings for the DS. It's an amazing sequel.

But yeah it was a great story I thought, and some of the music was really engaging.
My wife who is Japanese and grew up with FF says she didnt care much for the soundtrack, but I think gone are the days of games having stricly melodic tracks. Most games now have fully orchestrated incidental scores. The battle theme for FF13 is really moving and I just got that game so we'll see how it goes.

@tfla11 well, vaan is the title character but he really doesnt have a big part, ashe is my personal favorite and prolly plays the largest role, but we all have to remember one thing... balthier IS the leading man ;-]

My favorite is the Archadian Judge deciding to ram the Bahamut in order to save Rabanastre. I love how in FF12 the Archadians are -not- your stereotypical evil empire, they genuinely care about protecting Rabanastre and its people. Yes they occupied it but it wasn't done out of malevolence. In a sense the Archadians are trying to save Rabanastre (from the destruction it would inevitably suffer during war) as much as everyone else is.

@toadman842 Basch and Gabranth are twins. I can see how that would be confusing. Basch changed his hair to look more like Gabranth's and took the charge of protecting Larsa after Gabranth died.

I didn't like this ending because I didn't like the singing at the end, and I hated Penelo's pants! And she got tattoos!! But I totally loved the part with Fram and Balthier, but I wish we could've gotten more into their personal lives.

@oxmarlenaxo I thought the song was good. I agree with you about Penelo being unattractive until she gets her sexy outfit at the end. And if you want to know more about Fran and Balthier's personal lives, then I guess the most you can do is play Revenant Wings for the DS. It's an amazing sequel.

I love the acting in this game. Best voice acting I've heard yet.
Balthier is probably the best character in Final Fantasy XII, and maybe the whole series. He's just so.. helpful and not selfish. Anyone agree with me?

I didn't even plan on playing Final Fantasy XII, I just ended up buying it because it was a Final Fantasy game.. and I love it. Very fun game. ^_^

But yeah it was a great story I thought, and some of the music was really engaging.
My wife who is Japanese and grew up with FF says she didnt care much for the soundtrack, but I think gone are the days of games having stricly melodic tracks. Most games now have fully orchestrated incidental scores. The battle theme for FF13 is really moving and I just got that game so we'll see how it goes.

Cons:
1)Crappiest gameplay I have ever seen in a game.
2)Maybe it's just me but im not satisfied with the ending.
Pros:
1)Only game that made me love the story so much that I never ever wanted to beat it and when I did... well lets say I had a week of depression.
2)Best voice acting ever.

@tfla11 well, vaan is the title character but he really doesnt have a big part, ashe is my personal favorite and prolly plays the largest role, but we all have to remember one thing... balthier IS the leading man ;-]

My favorite is the Archadian Judge deciding to ram the Bahamut in order to save Rabanastre. I love how in FF12 the Archadians are -not- your stereotypical evil empire, they genuinely care about protecting Rabanastre and its people. Yes they occupied it but it wasn't done out of malevolence. In a sense the Archadians are trying to save Rabanastre (from the destruction it would inevitably suffer during war) as much as everyone else is.

Great voice acting and accents, nice long game so if ya cared about the characters specially come the ending it was like watching a good damn movie, ya cared about the characters like ya wish they were real and could know more about them or something.
