However ALL Greek and Italian input in Albanian is fantastically post-13th century!!! Many years ago, Illyrians lived in what is now Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia and upper half of Albania. Because they were at a disadvantage due to a rough terrain, they were easily conquered by and mixed with Celts, Ostrogoths, Romans, Huns, Slavs, Turks and more.

Unfortunately for people who subscribe to the Albanian=Illyrian connection, what we know of Illyrian makes it a Centum base and we DO know that Albanian is Satem, thus fundementally different. Moe likely Albanian is connected somehow with Thracian or Dacian who mixed with Illyrians in the region of Kosovo.
