Sorry, I accidentally removed one of your comments. The Audio is just playing in a different window (a background program). To get sound you have to use OPENAL, but I think the WGL (windows OPENGL) library, is capable of playing sound files.

@devilazpl It is OpenGL. I was first contemplating between Direct3d and Opengl , and I chose to learn Opengl.

No, the characters in the game are just 32-bit
