  • Muy bonito... como se llama ese proyecto???

  • I heart the technicality at 2:15, har, har, / seriously this was a hey-day period for Jonas {using the whammy-bar bass, yrs. before Vic.Wooten, & before Hellborg went quasi-hippi-India-"world"-hop-la {Pastorius wasn't a fan of John Mclaughlin, for more than person reasons} // on this vid: FREAK, TECH. sounds @ 6:00 - 6:30 {latter day Steve Vai on Bass-Guitar here,... miles beyond Billy Sheehan histrionics.} IMPECCABLE TIMING, FOR quasi-improvised Fusion!!! - BRAVO!

Thanks for telling Jonas about Shawn!!!

    We're eternally greatful...

  • This is so awesome--they look so happy playing together!\m/

  • if you look at the video of stevie salas and tm stevens having a jam (tm has a double necked bass), stevies second solos has a bit in it loads like 3:38

  • The ring-modulated ambient starting of Jonas' solo is something! Really unexpected, and mesmerizing.

  • @relicanth101 Yeah, I love that, too--such a beautiful man with an even more beautiful talent!\m/

  • I love this a lot, and gotta comment we see too few bass players around using bass like Jonas does.

  • It makes me happy to know Jonas and I share the same style of facial hair.

  • brainpunk

  • sweet jesus love!!!!!!! i'm scared for life 0_0u

i will never be the same

  • I was a kid when this came out somewhere in the early 90's. Liked it, so I went and saw them in a jazz-club in copenhagen. Lots of inspiration, but the biggest impression on me was how effortless and calm (bored?) the drummer (Jamie) was while pumpin' out this complex formula-1 style drummin'. Don't think I've seen that since.

  • De verdad que son exelentes musicos masters of masters!!!!

    Jens Johansson`s god of keyboards!!!!!!!!

  • Jens go me started on bass from an early gig in Malmoe on the beach. Unforgettable gigs with jens/anders together with Jonas H back in the days.

  • BASS POWER!

  • very cool indeed.

  • is that a wal bass?

  • definitively... you mainly tell because of the pick ups

  • yep.

  • ???

  • w00t for 11/8!

  • this song is called "moving" from the album Jonas Hellborg group (1990) with J Hellborg (bass) Anders Nord (bass) and Jaime Salazar(drum)

  • who is older jens or anders?

  • are what? Eating magic potatoes??? I'm SURE YOU ARE!!!

    hand it over bro, please...

  • @DimeCrisBag it's probably as simple as people encouraging kids to play instruments instead of cancelling music classes and programs like over here in america.

  • Yeah, but isn't it great wankery?

  • IS

    bass

  • That's good stuff!

  • why doesnt jens play anything interesting anymore..?:( too much vodka and too much stratovarius..bad combination!:P

  • didn't johansson brothers play with Y.Malmsteen?

  • yep.

  • i fucking love the album E

  • Do youo know where I can get that album from? I've been searching for it. I don't think Bardo sells it.

  • i too want to buy this album i cant find it anywhere

  • I heard Jonas say that he's wanting to rerelease the album "e" but it hasn't happened yet, may be he's very busy with other projects. Same goes with "The Silent Life" accoring to his official site if you read his blog uner "A blog of a bass players travels and travails". Octave of the holy innocents been rereleased while a ago, so if we wait patiently, may be we will get the other 2 one day. I really would like get those two. =D

  • @lovekurt

    ブリスベン見附...

  • search in the taringa! blog, its in spanish, lol, but there I found it, just search for the album itself, that you are going to find it.

  • So awesome !

It irritates me how Hellborg almost never looks at the fretboard.

    Animal !

  • Wow, this is really awesome jam! At 3:38 is like a Buckethead's crazy robot guitar sound but with bass!! I'm so amazed. I love Jonas' bass so much, and this is the first time I hear Jens and Anders, they make great team with Jonas! Q

  • dog bar b q?

  • is it me or does Hellborg look like a Klingon here? lol

  • Háháháháhá...

    He is!

  • Wow!!!

The best of them is Jens (the best keyboard player on the world)

  • didn't i see these guys in Lord of the Rings? Not my favorite but i can appreciate.

  • Cool stuff! 8-)

  • best music! Stay Viking!

  • This, horrible music? What do you like, Metallica? Jesus Christ, these are extremely technical and expert musicians. What the hell is wrong with music's listeners today?

  • @Ange1234 I don know too...People are SO simple today

  • @Sortsylic

Look at how Ange1234 s Comment is 3 Years old

you cant exspect a reply from him

    But for the Topic

There are some Hard-To-Listen to Parts in this music

and Those are not liked by everybody just except that

But great work by Hellborg on the base id like to know

what year that video was filmed

  • @Zappafan1980

    I guess it's 1994 or 1995. This is from "E".

  • @Ange1234 they dont listen...like you do with prophecy or you wouldnt blaspheme

  • This is no shit, you are.

  • Right there at 2:05, when drummer hits that drum repeatedly....Ive heard buckets thats sound better

  • does anyone know what 'whammy bar' system hellborg is using?

  • Kahler !!

  • awesome! you all rock!

  • Fyfan va ja gillar musiken!!!! den ä liksom härlig!! fasst ja fördedrar faktist Hammerfall o stratovarius..:)

  • Jens Johansson is awesome!

  • he still flirts with it because hes plaaays heavy metal

  • At the moment he does seem to be playing heavy metalish stuff again (after not having done so very much for quite some time). In case it isn't clear, I love his metal, or hard rock-ish stuff, I guess is what I'd call it. But he can definitely play more advanced or challenging types of music as well.

  • Well, I think it's great!

The Johansson brothers are totally amazing as usually. Jonas sence of timeing is cool also.

  • what a complete load of SHIT , ... its the first time ive heard hellborg,... don't know what the fuss is all about , ... just a load of finger twiddling BULLSHIT !!

  • Not to be an apologist but he is actually capable of better stuff and has improved since this video which was probably about 15 years ago when he was still immersed in the heavy metal shredding of his youth (something he admittedly still flirts with). But subsequent projects with Sipe and some Indian musicians have been more musically intelligent.

  • but probably just as boring as this, Jen's is the man and this is no doubt good technical music but it's boring as hell.

  • to be fair i would say mark king (of level 42) would be better king has a better tone and slap technique

than again thats only my opinion

  • Those wacky Swedes!

  • Cool Bag Of Rhythm - Right On - WorldwidewelcomE - VIKING

  • Jonas will always be The Master.

  • where the fuck was this recorded?

  • I saw this line-up in Frankfurt Germany possibly `91-`93 can`t remember exactly.

Same lighting, same movements, same clothes. I was quite disappointed by the gig. Not what I expected.

  • It takes a certain type of person to be close to bass, embrace, not just feel it.Bass is an extension of oneself. I have beeen playing bass since the age of about 14,and now i'm 46. I can even do complicated bass lines on keyboard(bass)

  • i have the abstract logic album and i can say that bass guitar will never be appealing to me

  • i wanna be on that family

  • he's jesus!

  • isn't his bass a viger, it looks like a very custom wal, but it has the viger shape aswell, fill me in..

  • Took me about 5 and a half minutes in to believe it was THE Jonas...lol so weird to me..

  • does not look like him at all...

  • nice bass playin =)

  • i cant putr my finger on it but it kind of looks like it says squire i doubt it though

  • its a wal

  • Yeah!!!! a very very custom one!!!

  • What basses did Jonas play back then?

  • you're playing with some pretty sick guys:D and actually you're not bad either.

  • Oh yeah! Moving! *dances*

  • jonas hendrix !!!

  • Hendrix could never play like that.

  • Yeah, mostly 'cos he is dead and he was a guitar player... hahahaha
