religious people who don't think we share a common ancestor with these animals, need their head examined..this, PLUS the fact that their dna is closest to us than any other animal, should be evidence enough..and there's much more evidence than this.

Its very brutal.... only the fittest survive, and it leaves the weak ie: sick, unfit, unable, with no hope at all... its why their intent is or was to take care of "the least of their brothers"

"survival of the fittest" is a misnomer, and a mis-interpretation of evolutionary theory. evolution is based on differential reproductive success. survival = living to a reproductive age. fitness = having children, or having your genes passed onto a new generation, even if it is via your siblings or parents. it's not about physical strength or lack thereof, as long as your genes exist and are capable of being passed onto even another generation, you're considered fit.

Since your born theirs a higher being which is your parents as they have complete responsibility on how your raised up until your old enough. The notion of a higher being is already instilled in usfrom birth.

Science is not a method of predicting the future, rather it is a method of analyzing what is already known. It can be used to determine the unknown, but it cannot be used to determine the unknown precisely. That is why scientific documents state a possibility of a result rather than a definitive yes or no. Most religions are a hindrance to science as they deny the possibility of a logical explanation for the unknown and therefor slow down new discoveries. As far as a cure for AIDS, there will be one some day, science has greatly improved the survivability of the disease. People used to say the same thing about Polio.

Through the scientific method and sheer luck, they have discovered over 100 natural elements on earth alone, and have successfully made new ones.

monkeys were never humans. study anthropology. the common ancestor of apes and monkeys is so far back, that they could not possibly have come from the line of humans. they aren't even in the same genus. the tails that monkeys have are ancestral, the lack of tails that apes have is derived. if monkeys came from humans, that means we would have lost our tails then gained them back. that's not parsimonious.

Bonobos and Chimpanzees are themselves split from a common ancestor only 1 million years ago -- Meaning that for the first 5 million years they were the same species that had split with us hominids.
So from a sheer probabilistic point of view, you would expect the two to be almost equally close to us anyways.

Well the real question is what did the terrain look like 6 million years ago. The weather everywhere was radically different, and the forest / Savanah mix he is seeing there today may not have been like that when we split with the chimpanzee lineage.
The mechanism he proposes, however, perhaps should not be dismissed so easily. The current bipedal theories put forth today are not much better.

Worth mentioning - The planet's climate over the course of the past 5-6 million years or so when Australopithecus Aferensis (like the famous Lucy), the believed "missing link" roamed the Earth, has changed DRAMATICALLY. So while that type of terrain may have lead to upright mobility, it's highly highly doubtful that particular spot was where humans evolved...

not entirely true - Dolphins, while intelligent, have pavlovian reactions to mating and those are mainly regulated hormonally. Bonobos actually have oral and anal sex - acts that have nothing to do with procreation. On top of that, those acts arent governed by seasonal hormonal changes. Take it from an Anthropologist

You don't understand. Pleasure is the core motivation, probably for most (male) animals, but the genetic pressure is to coordinate with female ovulation cycles.
Bonobos both miss the cycles and engage in definitively non-productive sex (such as oral, and homosexual behavior.)
