This is one of my favorite poems...my mom had the Desiderata plaque hanging on our kitchen wall and i would read it every day...i memorized it as a young child and it still plays in my mind....*among the sham drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world*...Amen!!!! thank you:)

who is max ehrman? i remember reading this years ago with the inscription "this was found in a baltimore church in 1693." is ehrman the composer of the music?

grebdude - Max Ehrman is the author of Desiderata.He wrote it in either 1928 or 1929.The story of it being found in a church is 1693,was proved to be a myth many years ago.
