  • &$#%^$#%^^&&**%&*((&%$!!#%%^

  • because in japan teachers actually do their damn job and guide childern to be a better person.

  • When I lived in Osaka, the beer vending machines had 500 ml cans and even larger cans that had handles on them (think they were 1 litre). I didn't notice any of the larger cans in the vending machines. Do they still have them? We used to drink them to pre-party before heading out to the clubs. Some of the clubs in Osaka even had beer vending machines inside the clubs that only sold Asahi Super Dry...only problem is a regular can of Asahi was 1000 yen instead of the usual 110 yen...

  • HAHAHA you are so funny!!!!! xD Cops everywhere!!

maaan you talk japanese so good!!!

  • bring some pabst over there and show them japs a good time!

  • pause at 3.24 why are there swastikas? (sorry i'm bad at spelling) i know they probably mean something else just curious what...

  • @violetnike... a place for a list of bars and stuff ahd clubs to. But no nazi hangouts :)

  • Very good

  • well, people in asian don't really care about you being underage or health, the attitude is, you got money, we got business, your health will be bad but that's your problem, you are responsible for youself. And mostly do or die, win or lose attitude. But hey beer taste horrible, so what the hell is the point of spending money on those....

  • Oh really is that what you learned from School? Come and live for many years in Asia first before concluding... Asian are more conscious of life than others. In fact the average life of an Asian is much more longer than other... And that's statistically!

  • i am asian, and lived many years already. I am not saying asian aren't health conscious. In fact I am saying the opposite. Please read again. It is competitive and health also. I wrote "you are responsible for yourself".

  • I don't think so... I don't think you're Asian also Judging on what you said... You can tell it by what Asian food offers they are more healthy than others... But also wrote "people in asian don't really care about you being underage or health". Now you're contradicting yourself!

  • what asian food offers??? what world are you living in? all cultural food has its pro and cons. It is up to you to decide what to eat, not CULTURE AND ETHIC , I WROTE you are responsible for yourself in that sense. and people in asian don't really care about YOU being underage or health, taht's why you must be resposible for yourself. that's why they have the vending machine because of that idea. If you are smart, you will be and choose to be, and responsible to be healthy

  • People in here also care about your health... The question is where the hell are you... Pretending that you are Asian! You don't sound like one that's for sure! Yeah all cultural food has pro and cons but in Asia it's more health concious. Yeah you decide what you eat but Asian menu are more healthful than others so Asian care for your health not like what yo said that they don't really care! Only RETARD will say that! LMAO

  • i am not going to argue with you anymore, it is pointless. My last statement is what world are you living in??? Asian menu are more healthful than others?? pretending that i am asian?? I wish i am not asian.and no Retard doesn't even know what we are talking about please don't put insulting comment to me and to retards. they and I don't deserved it.

  • I'm in Asia. How many times do I need to tell you that? Depends on what you're definition of retard is and it's not insulting it only depends on your comprehension on it.

  • おぉ! Yナンバー はじめて見た。

    在日米軍だね^^

  • そ、そ、そ。しかし、私は軍隊ではない

  • awesome video man.. heck i dont even know how i found your video, but its great!

    keep us updated =D

  • Thanks

  • lol estima = tarago in australia.

  • its cheap too!

  • 酒! Lol first moment i saw that i was like MUAHAHAHA wen i go im using that machine >:)

  • we get lots estima in the uk ,

  • the problem is that American's don't have any self control...haven't you seen all of the fat bitches at the mall/grocery store/department stores!!!

  • at 3:21 the gps show a nazi sign on the right... probably a convention that weekend LOL

  • Lol thats funny

  • That is a temple in Japan.

It is a reverse-rotation of Nazis.

  • 190 yen= $1.94 us

    130 yen= $1.32 us

    Pretty inexpensive prices for biru

  • lol, we totally had estimas in iraq. and mitsubishi pajeros and japanese jeeps. I think the pajero is another name for the mits SUV, but you never hera of the others in the states.

  • D: i think people in japan don't abuse the beer vending machines because they're distracted by their advanced cell phone technologies even outside on the street >:| -jealous-

  • Hey is that a Manji? On your GPS it looks like a manji, which i think means good lick, or protection against evil, so, ja that's what it looks like to me :D.

  • ..or maybe alcohol isn't a "forbidden fruit" in japan and hence a culture that glorifies alcohol abuse doesn't spawn likes it does in the US. Teens in japan are clearly more responsible drinkers. If you treat someone like a kid, expect them to act like one. If you treat someone like an adult, expect them to act like one.

  • well put.tell that to our new "president."

  • i absolutely agree with that, I am 17 and there's no lure for me when it comes to drinking, my mom and dad never acted like it was a big deal if i asked for a sip, but that's all they'd allow me, i'm not curious nd i wont go out to find alcohol iether

  • Nice Van!!!!

  • awsome dude

  • dude its preatty cool man it looks like theirs not much crime their ps how much does rent run you up and is it difficult for a mexican gajing to live their

  • youtube is old now?

  • dude they had those in Europe too....on our highschool trip so you can guess what we were busy doing all night hahaha.

  • woah! that van pwnz all the vans here in the US.

  • I gotta ask...

    Is your Estima a Hybrid???

Oh and i believe that the Estima is called a Previa in the states... idk it looks like one :)

  • You are correct about the Estima being called the Previa. However, they no longer sell the Previa in the US and haven't for several years. Toyota replaced the Previa line with a van created specifically for the US market called the Sienna. The Estima and Sienna are very different. And, no, it isn't a hybrid. The hybrid version wasn't yet available when I got my Estima.

  • It is called a Tarago here in Australia

  • Teenagers in Japan don't try to drink from those vending machines because they know that if they get caught, they know it will stay on their record for school. Plus, the teenagers there are very disciplined.

  • is it also true that there are half packs (10)of cigarettes in vending machines too? i remeber back in the 80's there used to be cigarette machines every where.

  • never mind i just saw the whole vid, well at least they have the vices at their finger tips. he we have to go to the corner store.

  • that car... is epic...

  • Thank You for a very good video and yes like the guy below me sad you do have a pleasant voice to listen to. You should have your own tv show. If you ever been to New York City is much like driving in japan, maybe much worst. Post us more video please.

  • Your videos are awesomely narrated. I'm English and found you really pleasant to listen to. Alcohol vending machines would never happen here, we have binge drinking problems as it is, I hate my country sometimes.

  • I like his van.

  • how come people dont abuse the vending machines?

  • I don't know. I really just don't know. really.

  • Did I just see a swastika on the map at 3:25? XD

  • Its not, a swastika is tilted on its side. Asian cultures have been using this sign for thousands of years, Hitler used the swastika only a few decades ago. ^_^

  • it's called a manji

  • yeah the reversed swastika is a biddhist symbol, much like the christian cross. so on the map it marks a tempel.

  • Wow! i wish live there japan look cool! .. oh beer vend machine.. i say where my favorite beer is budweiser?! lol jk

  • Hey thats a realy intersting vid =), japan looks awesome, hope lives good!

  • Omg thats so cool

  • I also saw beer vending machines when I was in Quebec

  • whats with the swastika on the navi?

  • Buddists have used swastikas to represent their religion since at least 1000 years before the Navis used the swastika (rotating in the opposite direction). Swastikas are still used to represent Buddist temples on maps.

  • K i went there and Japan..... ROCKS SO Bad man i am so going back the people are so nice way better then in canada

  • its not on an angel like the greman one

  • Gotta say Slade your Japanese sucks!! Duse, the Estima is actually a crappy car too...My Elgrand kicks its butt any day of the week!

  • どうもありがとうございます。I almost bought a Nissan Elgrand. I didn't like the interior styling, navi, sound system and options as much as my Toyota. I do like the over-the-top grill on the front of the Elgrand. It looks so Japanese tech. My Toyota also cost way less so I left with more money in my pocket.

  • Slade, if your trying to impress me with saying "thank you very much", its not impressive at all. Better if you typed your whole response in Japanese. Otherwise don't bother using it. And if you like your Estima, that's cool...many people like cheap, inferior products. Just look at the influx of Chinese products on the market. Enjoy.

  • Wow, you are a real jerk, aren't you? I was trying to be positive in my response to your first arrogant and rude message. Why don't you go and attempt to self copulate.

  • Atleast this comments in English. LOL

  • Correction: the comment is almost in English. Did you mean to say "At least this comment is in English"? You are clearly a massive genius.

  • hey what is the legal age to drink in japan?

  • Twenty years old

  • i enjoyed your video please post more

  • do u live in japan ?

  • Thanks for posting this. I never new how it felt to drive in Japan! Thanks dude!

  • No, the only reason why it's not highly abused is because the Japanese have more dignity than kids in the States. They respect there bodies, while in America, the just don't care. Very sad. I ran into one of these before in a hotel. I was going crazy because they didn't check ID!

  • I don't think it has much to do with Japanese kids having more "dignity" than their American counterparts at all. You are stereotyping. The Japanese have their own problems to deal with. Enjokosai (prostitution) is just one of the many major issues in modern Japanese society. I was an ALT on the JET program and taught at several different high schools. Japan isn't what it seems to be on the surface... By the way, beer and tobacco machines get turned off at a certain time each night.

  • Thanks for the info. I never pass those machines late at night.

  • Sorry, I didn't mean to stereotype. However, it does show in they're culture that they do not do: robberies, drive-bys, and all that other bad stuff. I know Japan has problems themselves, however, I think the underage drinking is not a problem in Japan, because they know better. In the US, we have kids who wanna do it to "be cool". Again, I'm not saying this happens all the time, but generally speaking, that's why the machines are never abused.

  • people in japan or more respected people, they dont drink and smoke when they or under age, japan dont have too amny accident like the U.S ,they intended to live in hormany ,Asian too not just Japananese my friend and the living is very high compaire to U.S.But thanks for your documentry, hope you have a fun time and peaceful in Japan. Thanks again

  • I love your car. So many neat gadgets that we don't have in America because the auto companies are all cheaping out.

PS: March 4th is my birthday! So when you made this video I turned 16, haha.

  • The road video with the speed up and general comments was nice. One thing you failed to mention is that most of the "beers" in the machine were "hopposhu", the fake carbonated beer tasting drink, which is awful stuff devised to circumvent (undoubtedly antiquated) beer taxes. People buy a lot of it (gaijins too) and I don't understand why anyone would drink it in the name of saving 50 yen a can.

  • Thanks for the info. I didn't have any idea that the machines contained "fake" beer. I haven't actually ever purchased anything from those particular machines since there is a conbini literally across the street with a better selection.

  • I disagree with you that most beer machines sell hopposhu - just not true. You can find all beers in those machines, to include sake & mixed-drink type of drinks

  • Just to clarify, you are replying to the dude that mentioned the fake beer junk, right? I never mentioned the fake beer.

  • Cool vid. LOL all the vices are in those handy machines for sure! I could just imagine what America would be like if we had these machines! Haha.

  • Yeah you have a pretty accurate observation, but I went to school in Japan during the summer and some of that bad kids do buy the cigs and alchohol. Oh and where I go is kinda close to sagamihara

  • Got a question: What kind of visa did you get when you moved to japan? Requirements? How long are you planning to stay?

  • I am not an expert on the subject. However, many people manage to stay several years teaching English on work visas. There are several companies that recruit English teachers from the US, Canada, the UK and Australia and take care of housing and visa requirements.

  • Japan is now giving out a 3 year working visa. besides teaching English at the "English Factory" schools, such as GEOS & NOVA, there is the JET Program. JET is the best way to go. Headhunting/recruting is becoming big in Japan these days, since life long employment is no longer the norm. There are many gaijin companies looking for new hires - its a very difficult and stressful job

  • was that a swastika I saw on the navi?

  • Yes. However, the Buddists used swastikas to represent the religion at least 1000 years before the Navis used the swastika (rotating in the opposite direction). Swastikas are still used to represent Buddist temples on maps.

  • That was a great video. Interesting car. Japanese just love their electronic gadgets, don't they? Never seen a car with a camera in the front... (would have thought that looking out the windshield was sufficient.) And the Beer vending machines! haha Wow. I'm amazed that the vending machines are in such good shape! In the USA, those machines would be jacked up and seriously vandalized.

  • That car must have cost a fortune!

  • Well, it certainly wasn't cheap. However, it cost much less than a comparable van in the US. I assume because of import taxes.

  • nice video

  • sharing your life in Japan is wonderful! thank you

  • Nice video.... It is good for us over here in the UK, when we get japanese imports they are all right hand drive. :D

I have seen estimas in UK, along with anything else sold in Japan.

  • Slick ride - I'm diggin' these vids :)

  • If I went to Japan it wouldn't be hard to find me. 1. I probably be Past out be hind one of those Machines, Or 2. I would be in the drunk tank with Bad hang over.

  • They have that also in europe, whats the big deal? (except for wodka or stuff with 40% alc and more except i say once whiskey but thats very odd)

  • Really cool video! I am planning on going and/or moving to Japan soon. We should meet up when I come and you could teach me the ways of Japan! :D I also heard of used panty machines??? It's apparently banned now, but still interesting.

  • That's a really nice car..Iw ish they sold them in North America too..hehe

  • Hey I really liked the fact that your Toyota Estima has cameras everywhere, even to see parking lines. I really want to move to Japan ,I really want to learn how to drive over there too, do you have any advice for me, or tips?

  • If you want to move to Japan, lots of native English speakers get jobs teaching English. The money isn't great but you get to live and work in Japan and experience a really interesting culture. Driving over here is a learn-by-doing kind of thing. The UK is pretty close with fewer bikes.

  • By the next year, alchol of vending machine in Japan is limited by ID card.

  • Thanks for that information. I am still amazed by the fact that so few people abuse the machines.

  • Nice video. Very informative and nicely done.

  • Whats wrong with 16 year olds drinking. I bet you didn't drink when you were younger and i bet you still don't drink.

  • Have you married a japanese women and have children?

  • Well, that is kind of a personal question. However, since with a little research you can easily find this out online I will answer. My wife and kids are Caucasian. All of our ancestors come from Europe. We are all Americans. Why do you ask?

  • HOHO sweet get hang over from a Vending machine not from a bar lol

  • Hey dude cool video!
