Excellent video, Keth! You're the reason I started on Reishi. I'm using LifeShield Resihi from New Chapter Organics. It's supposed to be a reputable brand.
So you take between 5 caps twice a day, right up to 6 caps three times a day. I assume you're maximizing the noticeable effects by doing this. How much in milligrams is your dose (per cap)?
Hey Keith. I always wonder what it is about me that I have been the one that has introduced reishi to our social strata, via my 8 year intensive apprentiship with Ron Teeguarden. I then taught Truth and downloaded to David Wolfe most of what he's talking about these days- and capitalizing off of... And I am consistently erased from the discussion. I know reishi like no one else, and have the highest quality extract available. All I wish is to be acknowledged.
Hey Dean: this video is over two years old, before i ever met you or saw you in person or even had a clue of all the roots of things as I do know... as i do very well! Highest respect to you especially after my hanging out in your herbal parlor a year ago--
you are coming to my local raw meet up this next saturday--
I dont enjoy them but iam hoping to go to see you in person--
cost of gas keeps me from my old ways of frequent trips to L.A.
Pre-reishi vs. Post-reishi. That is measuring your life from a watershed moment. Are you telling me the post-reishi effects were *that* significant? That's quite impressive. I assume this also depends on dosage and/or how you "saturate" your system with reishi on a regular basis. Example: taking 1 or 2 a day might help ward off colds. Taking 5-10 a day will yield results of a much higher order. You even mentioned to forget about marijuana, because reishi gives you much more.
I like smoking a couple puffs of marijuana, it helps me sort through gunk and realign myself but if I do it more than once a week then I feel tight and my buttons are easily pushed. Will Reishi allow me to smoke more often without losing balance? Thanks
@liverawkstar no definitely not, hmmm, for a herb thats got a 5 star treasure rating, that comment seems a little strange, fo-ti is talked about in very high regard. loved your vid where you say these herbs knock cannabis out the park :)
@ytcrittical you asked me if it was an alternative or equivalent.. no it is definitely not, while YES they are both 5 star by Ron Teaguarden ..and as well by anyone.. but reishi is very SHEN, immune modulating etc and reishi does nourish all 3 treasures.. Ho Shou Wu is total kindey food YIN JING... and He Shou wu also nourishes all 3 treasures-- but the focus is JING, specifically yin... I guess in a sense all tonic herbs support everything, but the direct action is not anywhere the same
@liverawkstar so after all that now you say foti supports everything too like the others, with some slight differences, but essentially its one of the best and a great starter for newcomers just like reishi would be. gees man thats what i asked to begin with lol! one problem like i said reishi is disgustingly expensive, not available in its original, unaltered form in england so its not an option except try foti because its the only one available, so its more about what would a close equiv
Reishi extracts are stronger than anything you can purchase,
especially the green house grown Reishi Gano 161 from Mushroom Sciences which has been engineered to near a strength of wild-- dont know where you live in the UK , but I know most of the UK should be damp enough to harvest it wild... Ho shou Wu is much more physical (JING).. Reishi is mental/spiritual (SHEN)... make sure the Fo Ti is "prepared": black/brown color, not orange yellow. Unprepared is not a tonic...
Interesting thing I just found out about Reishi Mushroom and I cant get my head around it. As far as I know an antibiotic kills all bacteria good and bad. So I'm in a pickle as to whats going on with Reishi being an antibiotic.
Just found out that Reishi is an antibiotic, a very powerfull one in fact.
And as you have made it clear lately that Probiotics are so so important it's a curve ball Keyth with this new Reishi awareness.
@elfe1982 DId you know that there is a company with 100% certified organic ganoderma spore powder available in north america for a very reasonable price?
DId you know that company also is deliverying that spore powder via COFFEE?
Did you know that people who typically can't drink coffee because it makes them feel terrible can drink this ganoderma-infused coffee?
People are also noticing that this coffee is easy on their tummies... probably due to the high alkaloid content of ganoderma.
I'm excited to try Reishi. I've been reading a book called Adaptogens, and they talk about many different, very special herbs, mushrooms etc. Reishi, ginseng, rhodiola, ashwaganda, cordycepts etc, are all classified as adaptogens, meaning they can help you, your body, mind, and spirit, balance (homeostasis) itself, to bring itself back to normalcy.
@ainsheea well, reishi is not "food" mushrooms, most people take them in caps, I however do take them under the tongue by opening the caps in my mouth, they are quite bitter and almost nasty to a lot of people with out sweetner or something else in the whole "elixir" way of thinking.....
I always ran to coffee and then later opiates. Coffee addiction is the hardest thing to break because everybody is doing it, and it is everywhere. I just got into Reishi, and am just starting to feel better......very encouraging video you made about feeling so good on Reishi. Cool.

one more thing, Zeolites. Ok so negative particles get trapped in the cages and taken out of the body, the positives are left alone. So if I take my Zeolite right before I take my Reishi can I be sure that none of the Reishi is going to get trapped in these cages?
I'm aware that you have taken Zeolite before Keyth so I am hoping that you can shed some light on this for me. I wanna get those heavy metals the HELL OUT!! but I dont want to interrupt the magic of the Reishi.

@tiatdivad
yes ,
its all good,
but spore, fruiting body, mycelium all have different charactaristics,
as well as different kinds of reishi have different charactars,
and this is really a very new fronteir,
and different people have different opinions--
and I think thats because reishi has such an intelligence , and it focuses in different people in different ways..
one thing is surely unified and I think that is that all who do it: literally view their life pre and post reishi

and occasionally different varities from Dragon Herbs

@flex4life Honestly,
in my opinion,
that is really something that is going to vary from person to person,
since I made this video two years ago I went on and off with Heavy to ZERO pot use till this year 2011,,
now weed does nothing for me productive..
but it used to be one of the greatest tools for me creatively (Im an artist)..
I would say basically YES to your question,
I eventually with my years of herbalism was able to create the same and better results weed gave me..
I dont do weed now

cant really get reishi in england but have found some shou wu (foti) would that be a good alternative/equivalent?
ytcrittical 1 year ago
@ytcrittical
no
definitely not an equivalent..
although they are definitely complimentary to each other...
and if you were only going to take 2 (cheaper) herbs I personally would choose those---
I would purchase Ron teaguarden's Ancient Wisdom of the Chinese Tonic herbs if you want to learn the distictions of all the chinese tonic herbs
do make sure that Ho Shou Wu ( Fo-Ti) is "prepared" , and not just straight Ho Shou Wu...
their totally different for their benefits

@chubberto I know people are combining the two--
to my awareness, and Im not positive, spores cannot be digested unless their cracked ( the spores),
such a product ( cracked reishi spores) is available from Jing Herbs,
maybe others companies as well, but I tend to stick with companies I know, and I know George Lamereux (owner) personally :-)

i dont eat foods that need to be cooked....
dont eat beans.... period...
very much following the protocol of dr David Jubb on that---
bean protein breaks down in the digestive tract ,, but then does little else after....
then on a coloidal level in the blood it just lingers and basically rots...
Jubb calls this a runaway protein....
we are not designed to eat beans...
but that is true of most "cultivated" foods...
