Yes, there is a lot of metalwork but I find that it does not cause me any distractions when flying. It's a bit like a roll cage in a rally car. Passengers that have never been in a microlight seem to find comfort in having a bar to hold on to!!
It's an old design and I would agree that the view from a C42 is much better but costs alot more.
I find the biggest issue is height. Im tall which means I have to duck my head slightly to look under engine. However that said having it there is a good sun visor. We have much better forward down view than a C42 which is instruments high. Rans sems best vis I know of, until you go to Eurostar then its low wings so cut off view that way.
I picked up my T600N for 11K ready to go with permits etc. Xairs are cheap way to get something looking similar but slower flying at about £4K and has enclosed cockpit too.
its easy to fly

@TheWisey1234,
Yes you need a license to fly a microlight. There are flying schools all over the UK and it is a very cost effective way to get into the air..

The thruster always strikes me as too much metalwork in the field of view, how is it in practice?

Which kind of ultralight is safer, this kind or the hang glider wing kind. Im interested in buying one.
josef2424 3 years ago
Itś just your personal preferance, and if properly maintained both types are very safe. Take a trial flight in each type and see what you like.

# axis like this kind are definately safeer as you can control roll attitude and yaw
