I am looking into this now. I am more of a Crosby stride, high bite. Weight transfer is king I think, getting into the power zone faster and cycling that for acceleration.
@topcornerwristshot better skater? are you kidding me? for one laura stamm is very outdated and no nhl skaters use her technique anymore.. if neidermeyer was a better skater he would have betternumbers
@ChipChizzleRap this is fucking bull shit! theres is only one way to skate and it is the the one that laura stamm shows! you cant create a new whole technique and forget the laws of biomecanic! (sorry for mistake, im a french canadian)

@frankyhockeybantamBB Okay, instead of being a sheep, why don't you go look at how the best skaters in the nhl skate. Some of the latest number draft pics do not use toe starts, the heel click, or the arm swing! Just look at hall, stamkos, crosby, taveres. Check out victory on ice, that is how you are supposed to skate!
Excellent point on 'sending the players' after a drill. Too many times (myself incl'd) we 'send' them to go for "one hard lap". Not that that's wrong, but send the players for a technical lap (1 or 2 laps) utilizing a Nied's OR Sid stride. Show them early in the practice what is meant by both first. Why not work a little powerskating into a normal practice?
