thefoppa1000 ditto me and the rest of our class.and then rattle and hum came out and they slowly started to lose us.rock bands can either split up or have an important member die and retain credibility forever or continue till nobody cares anymore.3 crap options but that's life.
I´ts incredible to see how U2 has evolved. The power and the technique in this whole album, wow!. The voice of Bono amazing, and what to say of Edge´s guitar, one of the best live albums ever made by a rock n´ roll band
best live anything iv ever heard. Now...well..now u2 is a depressing term...their music is lackluster...but hey they have their millions so.. Even Bono says their music the last 20 years has been bull shit
No doubt this is U-2 finest hour as a band this is what I grew up with before they went to corporate. They used to be the musicial voice of the people not so sure now but all things change.
This is my favorite live recording of all time. This is U2 at their peak - musically and lyrically. This may also be one of the few great Christian rock songs - it's passionate, powerful and inward-looking rather than preaching. Even the title of the song is perfect - it and the ringy guitar clock-chimes leading to the final verses:
Call out your name, call out in shame...
Just perfect early 80's U2: brilliant guitar and lyrics about faith and the Apocalypse.
Possibly the finest live album of all time and this track just emphasises the urgency and power of the music....and the solo near the end is just an absolute classic! Thanks for posting!:)
classic unblemished top U2..i grew up too with this album...the best

@pplpilot. It's your loss. I saw U2 in 2009 for the last time. They're still an awesome band.

@thefoppa1000
For me, it all changed in the early 90's. Their sound changed. In the 80's, U2 was inspirational.
