how to use virtual drives to mount ISO files with Alcohol 52% FREE

i have alcohol 120% and love it. The only problem is when I mount a game to a virtual drive and the auto-play option pops up, I must not have a program to play the game with. Any suggestions??

@BigPeeze007 i'm not sure what you mean. you don't need a "program" to play the game. the game IS the program. it sounds to me like the file you are mounting is not the game itself. or maybe its not the correct format, and it thinks you just want to open the files, and not run them as a game. does that make sense?

@forrealee thanx for the quick response, and yes that makes sense, but when I mount the game which is in iso file format the auto play box pops up, but nothing plays it. When I try to use WinDVD or VLC media to play it, it says media not supported. BTW your forums have helped me with a ton of other problems so thank you.

@BigPeeze007 I just checked the file format and it's a powerISO in .img file format. I don't know it that makes a difference. If it does, how do I convert .img into .iso? I thought they were pretty much the same.

@MrJoker129 yes you can. Alcohol supports .mds/.mdf (default) .iso .ccd/.img/.sub .cue/.bin

@killcreate yes, all ISOs are the same. its like opening a word.doc with Microsoft Office or Open Office. its all the same

Im doing this with Warcraft III and it lets me install it that didnt let me before but then it says "plase verify that your Warcraft III disc is in your CD-ROM drive, the clock on 'retry' ", is there a way of making the virtual drive the default drive ? Help

@MattSaidLOL im not sure what the problem is. you may need to find another copy of the game. or find a crack that will work.

after i insert an image of call of duty 2, the autorun does not occur, and if i try to run the game, an error occurs and says "please insert correct DVD-CD ROM". Any suggestions?? tkx

@carlant11 hmmm not sure about that one.maybe the iso is bad? or some games require a crack to get them to run. i'd suggest trying to find another copy of it

@Mouradsmida hey to be honest i've never converted from a UIF file... so im not sure. i would say just try to find a torrent that is already an ISO.

I'm trying this with starcraft and for some reason when I try dragging the iso file to the virtual disc it doesn't do anything.

When I start up the program it says "Loading alcohol device drivers failed! Emulation options and native driver interfaces of alcohol 52% will not be available!"

I guess I have to reinstall it.

hello, I downloaded Halo 1.iso (609 mb) by utorrent. I used both daemon tools and Alcohol 52% (the way u did) to mount, but nothing happens. After I draged the iso file onto virtual drive, nothing happens after that and when I go to My Computer to open the virtual drive (F:), it says corrupted or unreadable directorie.

Any Idea what the problem might be

uh... sounds like the file you downloaded is "corrupted or unreadable"... you answered your own question, and didnt even realize it :D

i used to have a "portable" version of halo for pc. no install, just click and play... you should look for that. then you wont have to worry about any of this mounting stuff... just google for "portable halo for pc".... thats how i found it.
