you know i feel sorry for lotso. but if i were him, i would wash myself off in the backyard and place myself at the window to see if daisy would take me back. two lotsos should be able to get along, right?

but of course, if he did that, there'd be no villain and the story would be too short.

I also think that even though Lotso was similar to Stinky Pete from Toy Story 2, he had less reason to turn evil whereas Stinky Pete had more. Stinky Pete had spent his whole life in a box and he had never been sold or owned by a kid. This caused his anger and evil to gradually build up as opposed to Lotso becoming evil quickly just because of one thing - getting replaced.

I think that they showed Lotso becoming evil a bit too quickly because surely would someone look sad and then become angry almost out of nowhere no that wouldnt happen. They should have shown Lotso looking very heartbroken at first and then showing his anger gradually building up dont you all agree with me.

One of my favorite scenes from the film. Really touching, I too became sad when Lotso went so hard against Big Baby. Chuckles became one of my new favorite Toy Story characters for this, love his husky, raspy voice.

It's sad, although Lotso took the offense far more personally, he should have felt the best about it, because he was the only one who was replaced, and that means Daisy loved him the most.

@24davidowens I just laughed at that bit coz it was so awesome, the ole' "guy who knew the villain back in the old days" speech, a cliche that never gets tired! I also laughed out loud when you saw chuckles face for the first time, a deadpan expression like that on a clown doll called "chuckles" is just priceless! <8))

@CHCHuser whether they win or lose or live or die, every villain is a tragic villain because they've destroyed their own ethical lives and moral code in order to achieve what they believe is the greatness that they've been looking for. as for Chuckles, the last thing that you want to say to a hurt friend whose life has just been ruined is "No, she only replaced you."! i don't condone anything that Lotso did and i never will, but i did feel sorry for him & Chuckles didn't have to be so tactless!

Some villains, like the Joker from "The Dark Knight", Kefka from "Final Fantasy VI", or Anton Chigurh from "No Country For Old Men", are villains with totally nihilistic outlooks; they do what they do not out of any sense of personal morality or ideology, but simply because they choose to, just for shits and giggles. I think those are the most dangerous/effective villains, since their evil is a kind of evil that good can never understand.

@Sanguiluna To be fair, both Kefka and Joker are insane. Kefka was first experimental Magitek Knight and it warped his mind. Joker on the other hand was driven insane because his pregnant wife and unborn child died, and he fell into radioactive waste (except that was not the case in Dark Knight).
